How long have you had it? Or has it come on recently? I know that
some people can develop it as a consequence of problems with the
balance organs in their inner ear, as opposed to being born with a
neurological problem.

I have a friend who is an audiological clinical scientist and he tests
patients whose balance organs are causing nystagmus. Unfortunately,
some of the tests are a bit unpleasant, even resulting in patients
vomiting when it gets too much sometimes!

Why did the person who told you that you were suffering from nystagmus
not provide you with further information? If it is as bad as that
website suggests you may need some serious support. If it is related
to your ears, I would have thought you should be seeing someone like
my friend for more help.
