Looks like I'm the first to say it - and I'm late!.

Although Christmas is tomorrow, for me at least, Hogswatch is defined as
the Winter Solstice so really it was 21/22 December (Eve/Day), so it
should average out!

Oh and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all those who have not
killfiled my ramblings!

I had to go into town yesterday and nipped into The Royal Blenheim (a pub
owned by White Horse Brewery
http://www.whitehorsebrewery.com/) mostly to use the toilet.

But having done the deed I felt the obligation to stop for a pint (I grew
up in a pub and have worked in several - the unspoken rule is that you
don't use the toilet without buying at least a half)

I ended up having a pint of "Rudolph The Red Nosed White Horse"[1] served
by a barmaid called Holly[2]. Asked the landlord, Ian, if I could buy one
of their rather stylish glasses and got told "I'll not notice if that one
goes with you".

Must be Bloody Christmas again!

All the best to everyone for Christmas and the New Year.

Nice! But I was puzzled by the lyrics of the song sung by the Merry
Peasants as they labour [1]. I know the Thatcher Thing did a great deal
of moving places to other places in England, and that Beastly Blair and
Equally Beastly Brown have done nothing to undo the damage she caused,
but how long has Uffington been in Mummersetshire?

Anyway, Happy Hogswatch to everyone. Gods bless us one and all!

in the History link. The one misquoted at the top is by Kipling (I think).

Happy Christmas/(C)han(n)uka(h)/solstice/time off/whatever to one and all.

My 9-year-old has just opened his Santa sack and is now playing with
the Pokemon toys. The rest of the family is still sleeping.

It's still Christmas Eve on this side of the world. I need to go wrap
presents soon. I expect my wife and daughter will be up at the crack
of dawn (or earlier) wanting to open theirs.

I would like to clarify that I send my good wishes to all, irrespective
of my 'killfile' status with them, its just that they were not likely to
see such, but it came out ambiguous like!
