Anyone know what this is gonna be called when it's re-edited for "Power
Rangers" next year?
I noticed some end credits in English for the New Zealand Unit. Is this
the first time the Japanese original has shot there? Is this evidence
of a deepening co-production relationship between the two versions?
Does the New Zealand unit work on both versions?
The MagiRangers are all siblings. I remember that the "Go Go Five" team
consisted of siblings. Is this the case with any other past sentai
seasons?
A beautiful older actress plays the mother in the first episode.
Finally an actress on the show who's close in age to me. Is there any
chance we'll see more of her? What's the actress's name?
I noticed the five rangers dancing under the end credits. Second time
I've noticed this ("DekaRangers" was the first.) Is this a trend?
Maybe Morning Musume-inspired?
Speaking of which, I was recently intrigued by a Morning Musume musical
("Help!!") in which four of the girls dress up in sentai-like costumes
and play Eco-Rangers. I would love to see the girls do a sentai series
or something similar where they all put on costumes and behave like
superheroes. C'mon, wouldn't you just adore a series called
"Musu-Rangers"? Or am I the only one who would like this? (Just
asking.)
I'll try my best, but there's probably others here that can expand on
some of these

Power Rangers Mystic Force.

Yes, in a nutshell, but only the first few episodes had filming in NZ.
Everything's been Japan since then. But there is a steady relationship
now. No idea if the NZ unit works on both.

IIRC, the only other sentai season with siblings was Fiveman.

Azusa Watanabe is the actress's name. In order not to spoil anything
for anyone, I'll answer the first question farther down.

There's been music videos at the end of practically every sentai, but
I'm not sure when the "dancing rangers" phenomenon started. Timeranger
was the last one before Deka where the episodes I downloaded had the
ending video and didn't cut it out, and that had them walking around,
but not dancing. So it apparently started sometime between Gaoranger
and Dekaranger.

Magimother apparently shows back up sometime from episode 34 on...
possibly in that episode specifically, but I haven't seen it yet, so I
don't know the details. Before that, just flashbacks.

There was also "Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGo-V" (1999).

The preview at the end of 34 shows MagiMother. So she'll somehow be
involved in 35.

You do realize he mentioned that one himself in his original paragraph,
right? :)

Jarel meet James, James is the type of person that skims over things.
Before my hiatus from here, he was claiming that an event never happened in
Power Rangers if it didn't happen in the Sentai.
D-ohh!
Sorry, I did skim over that...

That was over a year ago. Drop it already!!!

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, from the sentais I've seen, Megaranger
did one with the dancing rangers too. But that was for the Matsuri
Style stuff. Cute nonetheless!
I recal "DaiRanger" having a dance routine, though I'm not sure if it
was in the credits. It's seemed to be some sort of aerobics-like (sp?)
dance.
James Nevermann ][
It did, but it was an "aerobics/official dance" video that was actually
for sale, I think. The ending video on the show was just the Rangers
riding their custom bikes across some Japanese highways to the music.
Phonetically, the siblings' family name is Ozu. (I'm assuming that is
somehow connected with "The Wizard of Oz" & such.) But, on paper, is it
really Ozu, or just Oz?
In some cultures, the family name is given last (like in
English-speaking countries), and sometimes the family name is given first.
How would I type out the first & last name of each Ozu sibling? For
example, would I type "Kai Ozu", or "Ozu Kai"?
James Nevermann ][
Ozu is the Japanese pronunciation because of, you know, their total
difficulty of ending words without a vowel sound. The actual kanji for
their last name is directly translated "Oz".

If you were in Japan, technically, it's last name first there, so it'd
be Ozu Kai (or Oz Kai, whatever). If you're typing this out for any
reason that involves people of English speaking countries looking at
what you're typing, you might want to stick with first name first,
because unless you have Japanese people (or Japanophiles) reading your
info, it's just gonna confuse a lot of us.

That's the obvious link, isn't it?

Ozu is a perfectly ordinary Japanese name. For example, the famed film director
Yasujiro Ozu. If you want to really nitpick, the kanji for their last name
could even be romanized "Odu", since the furigana is written with a "tsu".
The Wizard of Oz in Japanese is "OZU no mahoutsukai", with the "Oz" written in
katakana. If you search for the kanji instead (小津の魔法使い), you just get a
lot of hits for Majiranger. But the kanji is clearly a play on the book/movie,
which is just as well-known in Japan as in the West.

If there's a reason for it, I'd use the Japanese order. I don't like to lose
the pun in a name like singer Ando Natsu, or the mystery writer Edogawa Ranpo.
But if not, the family name last is fine, that's what the newspapers do.

The ending video is mostly them on their motorcycles but there are
also a couple times when they're shown dancing with their staff
weapons.

I capitalized certain letters because that is the way it was in the

MAHOUTSUKAI means magician in Japanese.

Yeah, I read about that online. Clever idea.

I was at the San Deigo Comic Con LAst year and spoke to a Disney Rep
who told me that Disney and Toei were going to work hand in hand for
the next Sentai Series after Dekarangers which woudl explain why there
were US guys working on Magiranger
