I am watching the end of the movie "Total Recall" (starring Arnold
Schwzenegger as Dennis Quaid). Dennis and his girlfriend are on Mars,
having just activated the air plant (set in a mountain) left there by
aliens. The head villain, Dennis, and his girlfriend get blown out a
hole in the air plant mountain and fall down the slope. They appear to
fall at 1G, not at Mars' .38G. A few minutes later, the air plant turns
on all the way and blows lots of air out the top. Nearby windows break,
and the glass appears to fall at 1G. How can people and objects be
falling at 1G on a .38G planet?

That's all right. They aren't on Mars.

Yep, that movie wasn't set in the Real World. Just how quickly Mars got an
Earth-like atmosphere should be a clue. The characters should have died
before they had enough air.
