Is there anyone here who lives in the LA/Hollywood area who might want to
come out and help me with a bit of a "guerrila filmmaking" project in the
true Jittlov tradition (that is, totally devoid of both budget & permits?)
I'll be shooting some brief scene establishing shots in front of
recognizable famous "landmark" buildings & sites all over La-La Land on
Wednesday 13 February, just a couple of weeks from now, and could probably
use some assistance from anyone else who'd likle to re-live a bit of the
"Broke Filmmaker's Lifestyle." The scenes will be edited into a short
semi-pro not-for-profit fanvid set in the universe of the famous old BBC-TV
series "Doctor Who", and will deal with the time travelling Doctor and his
companions (original TV series stars Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred, and
John Levene are reprising their original characters from the show) will
travel to 1982 Los Angeles and accidentally walk in on Federal agents
preparing to execute the famous fake "drug deal" sting of car maker John
Delorean, thereby tipping Delorean off to the truth, and preventing the
sting from happening. They then travel 20 years into the future to find a
world where the Delorean is now the world's most popular car, and John is
still a hugely successful public figure. The scenes we're staging will be
done without any of that newfangled CGI, no siree. We're going to make it
LOOK like these cars are EVERYWHERE the old fashioned way, with the help of
several local & national Delorean Owners groups turning out a (hopefully)
massive number of cars to actually drive by in traffic in front of The
Chinese Theater, Griffith Park Observatory, the LAX airport sign, the
Hollywood sign, etc. I'm looking for help both on the day in coordinating
and filming, and also between now and then to scout the locations and plan
the advance staging of the cars at convenient local parking lots up & down
the street from each filming location. If you're interested, e-mail me back
directly at whocr...@aol.com (whocruiser AT aol DOT com) with your own
contact info, e-mail & phone preferred, as soon as possible, and we'll take
it from there. And, if you own a green jacket, bring it along for good
luck;-)

Wow!

I wish I lived in the area and/or owned a DeLorean ... that sounds awesome. A
great fan-produced Doctor Who indeed :)

I hope there will be online video links for it when you're done - I love that kind
of stuff! Best of luck to you all!

eGhAD!!! That's some paragraph, old man. My mind blanches at the mere
sight of it.

I'll try reading it tomorrow, when I've gotten more than two hours of sleep
in.
