New member, old fan

I first learned of Mike and his marvelous movie when I was a kid. The
local library had a copy of The Wizard of Speed and Time, which I
thought sounded interesting, so I got it and took it home. To this day
it is the only copy I've seen which includes the scene with the two
police officers going through the Keystone Cops car, complaining about
the garbage inside, and commenting on the vehicle's cardboard license
plates. Ever since I saw that movie I've been a huge fan, and now with
the internet I can also enjoy Mike's other shorts. About a year ago I
emailed him about buying one of his movie posters, but never received
a reply. Then, when I went home to visit my parents during Christmas,
I gave some though to dropping by the address on his web site to see
if he was still living there, and if so to meet him, but the trip to
LA was filled with other things to do, plus my friend who was driving
had to be back home by a certain time, so no dice on that. Any one got
some new news on Mike? I've heard conflicting reports that Mike has
rights to the movie and is working on restoring and completing it for
DVD release, and also that some small time company has the rights and
is just sitting on the film with no intention to release it. Anyone
have the truth?
