We Choose the Moon: Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Apollo 11
Lunar Landing
http://wechoosethemoon.org/
That site's got cool graphics & animations, with timers and a little
orbital chart showing what's what and when, but the mission audio is
way out-of-sync, and the background sounds get a bit irritating (also
it tends to get overloaded).
Better to lower the volumes on that site, and open up a new tab with
this site for the audio...
Listen to the Apollo 11 Radiocast
http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/apollo11_radio/
Full transcripts of the Apollo missions (and they even EXPLAIN
everything!) are here...
Apollo Flight Journal
http://history.nasa.gov/afj/
Apollo Lunar Surface Journal
http://history.nasa.gov/alsj/
Use the timestamps in the Journals in conjunction with the mission
timers on WeChooseTheMoon, because there are long periods when you
just hear static on the Radiocast, like when the astronauts were
sleeping or eating.
Enjoy!

If you should see me walking
Through your dreams at night
Would you please direct me
Where I ought to be
I've been looking for a crystal ball
To shed the light
To find a future in me...

Today is one of the historic days in my life where I remember exactly
where I was when they walked on the moon. I was at the Orange County
Fair. They had set up tons of portable units with televisions that
were showing it all. I went to the fair today and remembered that day.
My brother was there today and said he actually remembers it and he
was only 5. I love the OC fair !!!

Too bad all the graphical elements on that WeChooseTheMoon site shut
down after lunar contact!
Don't they realize there's more to this mission than just the landing?
At least the audio runs 'til splashdown.
