It'll come back when Dave's mom returns on the air. That will most likely not happen. She turned 91 last July. Leave her be.

Albeit irrational.

That's something to meditate about.

Which probably explains why you now shop alone.

Leave her be? What are you, her keeper?
Elaine Stritch is 87 and still performs regularly.
I think the woman can stand there and pretend that she just baked two pies.

Fantastic that Stritch is fit enough to continue her career. As is evident to most humans on the planet, not everyone operates at the same level. Let's see where Stritch is at 91.

Yes, leave Dave's mom be.

No, he's being what we call "considerate".

> Elaine Stritch is 87 and still performs regularly.

So? Dave's mom is not Elane Stritch, is not 87,
and would presumably fly to New York and work on
the show if she felt like doing so.

> I think the woman can stand there and pretend that she just baked two pies.

I think the woman doesn't exist strictly for
your pleasure and doesn't have to "stand there
and pretend" for anyone unless she wants to.

You are truly a special piece of work.

I did, you poor sad little thing.
(You didn't know she'd been there before?)

And now we can get back to the part where you were acting
as if you thought Dave's mom was supposed perform to order
for your exclusive benefit.

You know: the part you're trying to pretend never happened.

No, no -- you introduced a variable into the equation on your own
recourse. Why not make up that I also wanted her to do a dance number
down Broadway? Might as well, since you're being so creative on my account.

What I said was that she can stand there in her own kitchen and pretend
she baked some pies. If that's a "performance" to you, then see a doctor.
