It is really Dave's mom. You should get her book to see all the
pictures of her and her family.

Maybe...No actress Mom for Dave!

Both...she's really Dave's mom, and I'm pretty sure she has a SAG card....r

That's really Dave's mom, but is that really Dave?

And Monday, when the show was taped, she was in Indianapolis.

Wednesday's show was taped on Monday just after Monday's show so she
was still in Indianapolis on Monday. He asked her where she was going
to be in the segment and I thought she said she was going to be at one
of her daughter's houses and one lives in Indiana and one lives in
Florida. I'm not sure which daughter she said.

Maybe...unless he flew the whole clan to NY to be with him and his
family in their time of stress!

Dave axed "A lot of folks coming to the house for Thanksgiving Mom?"

She actually said "No not this year. I'm going out this year."

I'd bet she's staying in Indiana.

But Dave said he picked up his mom at the airport. Which was probably
just a joke. He usually hails a cab to go to the airport to pick up
his mom.

Someday he may be able to call a car service to pick her up.

Dunno.

Do you still have Sarah Palin's youngest daughter locked in the trunk
of your car?

No, that would be pervert Dave's bailiwick. He's as obsessed as ever
with Palin. Just a sad kind of derangement at this point lol......

Wait, what?

You mean all those time he said he walked through Central Park on his
lunch break to see squirrels licking their nuts were lies, too?

Dave has made hundreds of jokes over the years about Letterman family
gatherings... most of which never occurred. Dave's mom, and his late
Uncle Earl Hofert, have been the most common ones to get the teasing.

I'm not disputing that Dorothy could have come to New York this week,
but I will guarantee that Dave's family jokes are complete fantasies.

No, that part's true, but it wasn't during his lunch break (that

their natural splendor.

I stayed a respectful distance away so not to disturb his solace.

not the same, sir.

That's really odd, because since it's *you* that continually posts
about the subject one might think that *you* were the one with a Palin
obsession...

Looking at Helen's pie chart, it seems that she last made Pumpkin &
Rasberry Chiffon pies for Thanksgiving was in 1999 so this show taped
on Monday and aired on Wednesday was not a rerun.

Maybe...plus, it was the first time the sound guy was involved in the
little skit

Do you think a little thing like death can get in the way of repeated
monologue material?

One must be careful when comedians are involved to distinguish the *actual*
Uncle Earl from the *character* Uncle Earl...Phyllis Diller was always careful
to point out that her real husband was not the "Fang" she spoke of in her act;
Joan Rivers, when she was doing standup, had a similar arrangement with
"Edgar"....

Sometimes the real person is the one most confused by the dichotomy; I think Sam
Kinnison had some problems in this area....r

Dear DT,

I think I need some fresh air, I'm going to for a walk. Do you
remember the "spider" conversation that was a while back? I was afraid
of getting a nightmare. Well, last night it hit, with the biggest
spider you've ever seen. Someone had a very leggy spider and kept
thrusting it at my face.

I'm going for a walk, happy that it was a dream and even in the dream,
it was not a hideous spider. It was harmless. Happy to be awake, and
hope you're having a good Sunday after Thanksgiving. ;) I'm in
Florida, and the temperature continues to drop. Feels good, after some
burningly hot days.
