Works fine on mine.
I've an issue with it. I add this to the sites which I can not view
video. I'm up to three...CNN, The LS site and Late Night. I can view
vids at CBS.com and NBC.com, but not the late night shows respective
sites.
I just went through tons of trouble shooting yesterday yet again to try
and fix the problem, but damned if I can find out what the issue is. I
miss the TMS that's for sure.

Works well and sounds real nice on my computer. Perhaps you don't have the
latest Java or some such plug-in?
It works fine for me using Safari 3.1.2.
There was a little delay (maybe 20 - 30 seconds) between the ad and
the start of Conan.
It's too bad these sites don't have a little tech blurb that tells you
what software (Flash, etc.) you need.

It works fine for me. And I loved the whole format they have -- not
only can you watch the whole show but they also have it divided up
into segments so you can just watch one or two segments of interest.
I hate it when I just want to watch one thing and try and fast forward
the video only to get the commercial over and over again everytime I
move the arrow up more. And why CBS doesn't have any full episodes
Dave or any of its other shows on the web is beyond me. Both ABC and
NBC have most of their shows up on the web the next day.
Maybe...and yep I agree, it is probably a plug in that you guys are
missing.

It's not. I have every plug-in I am supposed to have. Every dll file in
the proper media folders. I've done exhaustive research on this and have
found a very small group of folks (both MAC and PC users) who have this
issue. It's not across the board, but only a few select sites. I can
view Flash media, WMV, OT and all other formats on a myriad of sites.
The issue I have with CNN, LS and LN has something to do with how the
site recognizes and calls the media players. But that's as far as I've
gotten and no closer to a fix than I was months ago.

Um, I'll come over and take a look.
You got any good snacks?
Brady
btw, what browser are you using? In all likelihood, it is an issue with your
browser or a plug-in. I use IE. In spite of what anyone says about
YaddaYadda browser being better, IE works most consistently (unless, of
course, you have a Mac, but Donz says it works with Safari...).
Yep -- as with DDY.
My issue happens with both Firefox and IE on the sites I listed. Again,
I've checked and double checked every plug-in, setting, Java version and
a host of other crap, but can not get a select few sites to recognize
that I have the proper players available.
Yah I'm sure that will make ALL the difference.

You don't keep it in your pants like Marilyn does, do you?
I had my special brown rice, basil, and cheese dish for dinner
tonight.
And this has been another exciting edition of "What Greg had
for dinner". Tell your friends.
Greg
No I like to show it to everyone.

I'm working on one of my favorite dinners....eggs scrambled with
spinach, basil and garlic. Side of home fries on the side and a small
salad.
Mmmmmmmm!
I'd be there in a flash (thanks for the invite!), but I've just begun
enjoying my annual summer fun in prostatitis hell.
And moi, Aunt Pat. I can see it just fine. Lots of Mercedes commercials,
tho'.
Could Conan look any goofier? I'd forgotten about the grandiose pompadour.
Just watched his clip of Jason Bateman. I liked him with Dave, and he was
good with Conan, too. He spoke of biking, wearing the lycra outfit, and NOT
shaving his legs. It brought Greg E. to mind. Did Greg happen to show a
little leg at DaveCon? Shaved or unshaven?

That sounds delicious, Traci. Someone really should put together
a book (or a collection of some sort) of a.f.l. recipes.
Man, I hate dark weeks,
Greg
What Traci's having sounds much better. Seriously, though,
I hope you feel better soon, Donzie.
Greg
God bless 'em. I assume you're gettin' the 4th of July special.
Oh, you said *prostatitis*.
My bad.

I'll be over later. Please have the soda chilled & the thermostat set at
a cool, oh, 68 degrees.
And I *will need to be* in charge of the remote -- or 'flipper,' as I
refer to it.
Thanks in advance!

I enjoyed this edition of "What Greg had for dinner." The dish you
made sounds very good.
I was in my local Kroger this afternoon and while looking at all the
types of loaf bread and hot dog buns to see if they had calcium (but
no dairy), a man was standing beside me also examining the buns.
Finally, he turns to me and says something like, "Well, I'm not going
to waste any more time on this -- I know what's good for me. Just
don't eat any white flour, white sugar, white potatoes..." I added,
"white rice," and then he told me not to buy the regular brown rice
but get the short grain brown rice in the nutrition section. It seems
he learned a very simple recipe from Alton Brown's "Good Eats" for
baked brown rice. So he then explained the recipe and I told him I'd
look for it on the Internet. I bought the rice he suggested, found
the recipe online, added mushrooms and put some seasoned boneless,
skinless chicken breasts on top of the rice with a few sprigs of fresh
rosemary. Steamed some broccoli and dinner was ready. Only problem was
the rice was a little hard. I thought it was good, but my son still
prefers white or yellow rice better.
"What Kate Had for Dinner" turned out to be less exciting than Greg's
version, I guess.
But after dinner I baked some lemon squares and will start getting my
baby back ribs ready in the morning.

Kate, I heard there was a big beef recall from Kroger today.
Did you buy any Kroger beef?
Hang on. <<Googling>

Tomorrow morning I'm making Salmon Pastries with Dill Pesto appetizers to
take to our 4th of July pitch-in with friends after golf.
<http://www.pillsbury.com/Recipes/ShowRecipe.aspx?rid=44937>
This national Pillsbury bake-off winning recipe is from a guy in nearby St.
Paul, MN.
Salmon pastries. Is that like fried salmon patties?
My grandmother used to make fried salmon patties with brown gravy.

No soda...raspberry iced tea, unsweetened. No air conditioning unless
the outside temp is above 85 degrees and then it's set at a comfortable
78.

Obviously someone likes to wrestle.
Spectacular actually.

It was! But probably good I live alone. I can still taste the garlic.

As long as you promise to be gentle.
Brady
Please include the prize-winning pie recipes. Yum!
Thanks for the warning. I haven't heard anything about the recall. (I
was sick for a few days and didn't watch much tv.) I don't buy ground
beef often since I substitute ground turkey for everything except
hamburgers, and I haven't made hamburgers for a few weeks. I was
thinking of grilling hamburgers for the 4th, but Kroger had racks of
baby back ribs on sale so I changed by mind. And I bought Hebrew
National hot dogs, too, in case someone doesn't like ribs. And I'll
serve Foxy's Asian Coleslaw, of course.
Isn't it depressing that so many towns have canceled their 4th of July
fireworks? I'm hoping they'll have the usual fireworks display on the
square in Decatur, GA since I'll be there tomorrow.
Kate
These look yummy, Pat! I copied the recipe and will certainly give it
a try the next time I need to bring an appetizer somewhere.
I wonder if you could use squares of puff pastry instead of rolling
out and cutting the Pillsbury Pie Crust?
Kate
> Did Greg happen to show a little leg at DaveCon?
To the best of my recollection, no.
> Shaved or unshaven?
Shaved? Um... No. With my ridiculous facial hair, shaved legs
would make the target of endless scorn and mockery (even more so
than usual).
Greg
What fun is that?
Brown rice (short grain) is a staple in my house. And my favorite way to
use up the leftover rice, after the chicken is gone, is to heat it up in
a bowl, mix it with cheddar cheese (until it gets all melty), and serve
with a poached egg on top. I've not tried putting basil in it, but that
might be a nice addition.

They have? I Did Not Know That.

One of my horn / Wagner tuba friends and I went to the Burlington
fireworks (the biggest and best display in the state) last night.
Tonight we'll be at my local town fireworks, and playing in the town
band in the park prior to the fireworks. Sunday we will go to the
fireworks in a nearby town close to my friend's house. She is looking
for somewhere for Saturday, in order to do fireworks on 4 consecutive
nights. That one might require driving over to NY State (over where my
friend's sister lives), however, so I might take the night off.

My town had their annual celebration last night. The parade was about
half of what it usually is and the fireworks were far fewert han
repvious years..

PS the best hot dogs are Pearl but I think that's a local brand.

Short grain brown rice benefits from very lengthy cooking -- it can
easily withstand an hour *in a pressure cooker*, a treatment that
really brings out its sweet flavor.
This has been the pilot (and final) episode of "Brad's advice on
cooking rice, cook it twice to make it nice." Tell your worst enemies.

The Durham Bulls aren't cutting back. We're going tonight to hear
Kevin Costner and his band play on the field (20th anniversary of
"Bull Durham"). You and Sikula would probably want to fast-forward
through the Costner musical act straight to the fireworks.

Fireworks Shortage: Less Bang for Your Buck
Local fireworks vendors say there is a shortage of fireworks because of shipping
problems from China.
Most fireworks used during the holiday are imported from China. Earlier this
year, a Chinese warehouse full of fireworks caught fire and exploded. One vendor
says that he's never seen a shortage like this in his career.
"Besides the loss of fireworks over there, they're just having an issue getting
them from China to the U.S.," said Charles Cedarblade, a pyrotechnician.
With the low supply, the price of fireworks has already gone up about 10 percent.
Just to add to the general melee of messages, I want Traci to know I'm
sorry she's having computer problems and that folks are offering her
help. I tried the Conan site and it worked for me, too. But I know how
frustrating it is when a bunch of sites gang up on you and won't work
properly. Second, I first read "salmon pastries," as "salmon pasties,"
but that's what happens when LAW AND ORDER is on TV when you're on the
computer and they're working a case that involves hookers. Salmon
pasties, indeed.
I love brown rice with stir-fried veggies. I usually use broccoli,
cauliflower and red peppers cut up with those tiny pignoli nuts and
just soften them up slightly as I brown them in safflower or peanut
oil. The taste is ambrosial because I add basil, cumin, turmeric and
garlic. It is a meal in itself. It a healthful banquet. I can't give
exact amounts for the spices, etc. A pinch of this and that. Not too
much oil. I like the veggies browned and cruncy. The nutty flavor of
the brown rice is very satisfying. You can always eat this with a
piece of your favorite fish, but that's a whole other flavor
experience.
What does this have to do with the 4th of July. Nothing. But we're
free of England's tyranny! Oh, yeah, tea. The above is good with
Rooibos Chai tea mixed with Mate Vana. Mixed in equal proportions.
Good for lifting depression. In all, an exotic taste experience.
Speaking of exotic, there's the mix of a Wagner tuba with fireworks to
celebrate Independence Day! Well, I guess it could work...how? Now for
a Florida weather report: Stormy weather: keeps rainin' all the
time...on you, across the street, but not three blocks away. Thunder
all the time. Usually means I get off my computer before I get struck
by lightn g.
Sally
No, but I have a very large hammer which might come in handy.
