Forecasters are saying that New York City will get a foot of snow
from what is being described as a historic blizzard tomorrow.

At least Dave won't be taping tomorrow. I wish for some El Blizzardo
jokes...

Now here are some words of wisdom from our good friend Dr. Phil:

I feel for you, today's weather here was absolutely terrible, at 65
and sunny, but hey it snowed last week, the very day after it hit 73.
Look on the bright sideat least New York City's Subway aren't going to
fill full of snow.

Oh and currently it's a frigid 54 degrees out. Had to take my coat out
of the closet ... again.

High here today, 73...low last night, 52...current temp at not quite 9pm, 66....

Last time it snowed at my house, sometime around 1994, I think....r

Wasn't that the year your place was featured on
the cover of "Arizona Highways"?

I recall thinking that the snow-covered tank-traps
looked stylishly piquant.

I remember one snowfall around 1988...November it was, not a time we tend to
think of as the depth of winter, and the snow started coming down in
mid-afternoon instead of overnight...wet and slushy and not at all
Currier-and-Ives-worthy...but it *was* honest-to-goodness snow, not one of those
hailstorms we sometimes get even in the summer....

The neighborhood cats were wandering around looking thoroughly puzzled...it was
like "I've lived here all my life--seven long years!--and I've never seen
anything like this before"...I'm sure they thought I was somehow responsible;
they always give the impression of blaming me every time it rains....r

In an interesting-to-me-only coincidence, it's currently snowing
here at my place: something that doesn't happen frequently in
the badlands of southern California.

Much like mothers, it's a cat's job to distribute wholesale guilt.

My Greyhound won't allow cats on the premises but he's just
been outside attempting to walk *around* the snowflakes, so
I don't think he's any too happy about the weather either...
