‘Lea Salonga . . . Your Songs’ to benefit typhoon victims
Everyone knows that "Lea Salonga…Your Songs" will be the international
singer-actress’s major concert to cap a fruitful 2009. It will no
doubt be another night of musical genius.
But the one thing that should also be celebrated that night will be
the event’s noble purpose of reaching out to our countrymen whose
properties and lives were ravaged by the most recent storms to hit the
country. The show not only promises to be a delightful evening to
thrill audiences, it also aims to aid victims of typhoon Ondoy &
Pepeng. Part of the proceeds will go to typhoon victims through World
Vision, of which Lea is now Ambassador for Child Sponsorship. For
every concert ticket that you buy, you will be giving help to them as
well.
AmbientMedia presents "Lea Salonga . . . Your Songs," a very special
concert to be held on Dec. 11 and 12, at the PICC Plenary Hall. From
over 5,000 song requests from around the globe, including San
Francisco, London, Australia and Dubai, Lea has selected a diverse and
electrifying repertoire.
Lea will perform under the musical direction of Gerard Salonga
together with the 36-piece orchestra FILharmoniKA. Also joining her
for the evening are comedy concert queen Ms. Ai-Ai De Las Alas,
premiere balladeer Richard Poon and the award-winning dance group
Philippine All Stars.
Aside from the deluge of requests that came in, some with heartwarming
stories behind them, a good number of excellent audition videos were
sent by Lea’s fans through the concert website. The site has also been
updated to include a section where you can ask Lea any question that
she may answer during the concert. So if there’s anything you’ve been
