I have 1992 Tdi 2500cc and have started to notice a slight knocking when
turning on full lock - noticeable only when in a car park (sound being
reflected) with the window open.

Any ideas please - and is it a big job.

I have recently had o/s swivels replaced if that is any use

unless there is something loose underneath that is banging of the wheel at
full lock, it sounds (no pun intended :-) like a CV joint going. Never
changed one a LR but its not hard on a car

Hmm, not power steering is it? A power steering system on full lock
is basically trying to push the wheels where they can't physically go,
most power steering systems don't like spending much time on full
lock. So I think it's a case of "Don't"! If it is this then you'd
hear it even if the car is stationary.

Steering lock? (small job) or knackered UJ (in the hub - biggish).

It sounds very much like a knackered CV joint - but only if heard when
moving. Worn bearings allow small amounts of movement, and therefore
knocking, but you won't hear this unless the bearing/s is/are turning. If
you are turning from lock-to-lock whilst stationary you've probably brought
it on yourself because of the stresses put through the system, and it could
be anything from worn damper mounts/bushes to worn steering damper
mounts/bushes to worn track-rod ends to worn...etc. etc. etc.
