Hi all,

Having recently joined this newsgroup and being a fellow Landrover
user/driver i've noticed many postings from people asking for help on
various paint related subjects.
As paint is my speciality and i may be able to offer many helpful tips
and information to the newsgroup i've taken it further.

I've had many emails asking for infomation on projects people are
presently working on with regards to painting with different products.

In view of this apparent popularity i've decided to create a website
dedicated for the sole purpose of storing, gathering and passing on
paint techniques to others.

I realise i'm probably not the only Coachpainter in the world nor am i
the only person who could offer advise on painting procedures.
I have not been able to find any other sites offering this type of
information so it gives me an excuse to put my BT webspace to good use.

Some paint info at http://www.stephen.hull.btinternet.co.uk

Constructive criticism or ideas welcome for website improvements.

Haven't checked the spelling properly and only two links work ATM.

Is it worth doing and will people here benefit?.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hmm, Not actually done that i'm afraid.

Providing the vehicle is ready to paint i would imagine you'd roughly
draw or mark out the camouflage area and just spray the colour with
the air pressure turned low and paint feed reduced to spot.
No masking would be needed that way either.

More like artwork i'd say.

Cheers.

Steve.

There is a gret site full of info at
http://www.roverlanders.bc.ca/faq/LRpaintMain.html

Perhaps you can integrate some of the info.

Interesting it is too and no reference to Coachpainting either so i
still appear to be unique in that area (at the moment anyway).
I won't study it to closely because i've got my own interpretation.

I've extensively updated my Painting Pointers website today for those
who may be interested and added a few more sections including sealers
health & safety and a few top tips.

Time permitting i'll add a section on polishing paintwork this week as
i've had a few requests in the polishing direction.
With spring round the corner and loads of pending paint jobs on the
cards it may just be useful.

Cheers,

Steve.

Not wishing to put a dampener, but the mod base near me just use a tub of
paint and a roller.. no shit and no spray!

I have heard that the best way of appying matt finish cellulose is with a brush
or roller. Also, that way all the paint goes on the car!

Actually, what I meant was how to get the shapes drawn. I wondered if there was
some kind of method, like at least 30% must be black, one part must go in the
front corner, etc...

As promised more paint related info uploaded to website today including
polishing tips.
It's a bit raw and i've loads more to upload, But it should still help a
few potential painters out there.

Cheers,

Steve.
