Is that something like hate the sin but love the sinner? ;-)

Personally, I would like to economically cripple Microsoft in any way
I can. i'm really happy with my new Mac mini and its 22" Samsung
screen. I downloaded OpenOffice for free, and it reads and writes MS
Office files perfectly, so I haven't spent a cent on software except
for a $24.95 Snow Leopard upgrade.

I don't share your malice toward Microsoft.

I have been looking at the Mac mini. Does it have an Intel or ADM CPU
chip?

Do you know if you can easily trim MP4 video files? I have some videos
on my iPod that I would like to edit. I have some great software for
editing audio. I'd like to find a decent program for Video trimming.

I have played around with OpenOffice a bit on a dual boot machine
while running Linux Ubuntu. I think I may have a "thin" version of
Open Office on a flash drive.

Patrick turned me into a hater. ;-)

Intel.

You can use the (free) iMovie program to import and export MP4 with
USB or Firewire (or burn a DVD). It will also export to Quicktime
using various compression levels, so that should do it.

The latest version has all the bells and whistles of MS Word as far as
I can tell. Some of the menu options are in slightly different places,
but it's easy to figure out.

The type of video editing I want to do is; I want to cut out
commercials and other superfulous material, or merge files into on
larger file, etc.

Not so much for simply importing and exporting into or out of MP4, I
have file conversion software that handles that task okay.

So... look up iMovie on the Apple site. It comes with the O/S.

Linus Torvald (originator of Linux OSes) shows approval of Windows 7:

Maybe the Japanese version is better than others? I mean, there's a
character overcount problem MS might have solved. Or maybe it was
cheaper there, or maybe (probably) Linus was just making a joke.

I ordered the upgrade to Apple's Snow Leopard for $24 sent to the US.
It costs the equivalent of $70 to $90 in Europe and the UK. But even
at that price, it surely beats Windows 7.

I'll probably upgrade to Snow Leopard soon. I used to code on the
Windows platform, now I'm on the Mac platform.

Windows 7 is getting a lot of positive reviews. For instance:

Well, how nice if them to fix all that weird shit in Vista after
practically forcing people to buy millions of copies. Gee, I think
I'll run right out and get an emulation program so I can run Windows 7
on my Mac! -- NOT
