Hi, I have what I have been told is a landscape photograph taken by John
Denver. He supposedly had a show of his photographs but I have been unable to
find any information on the net. Does anyone on this list know of photos taken
by John and sold in a gallery? Any information would be appreciated. Norman

G'day,8t4,.
I do know that a lot of John's photos can be found in Tom Crum's book,"the
Magic of Conflict."(at least in the copy I've seen) available at Nature
Music.Hope this helps.

Hello Norman,
John did a gallery showing of his photographs, along with watercolor artist
David Armstrong, who showed his watercolors. This showing was at the Hammer
Galleries in New York from December 2, 1980 through January 7, 1981. John and
David were present at a special showing on December 3, 1980.
The proceeds from the sales that day went to the Windstar Foundation......

I have been fortunate enough to have been able to aquire photocopies of all the
watercolors and photographs..There are some real beauties----all of them
treasures...

Peace,
Wendy

Hi Wendy,

Aren't those beautiful photos/watercolors? I've got one of the
original brochures from the exhibit and David's watercolors are
incredible. They remind me a lot of Normal Rockwell ... in the
content ... especially the one in the doctor's office! My favorite
photo of John's is "Liquid Silver." John also had a photo exhibit at
the 1989 Windstar Symposium. He had a series of photos of the
development of an Aspen leaf .... those were incredible. I took
photos of some of them which I could scan but I don't know how to post
them here!

David also did the watercolor of the meadowlands at Windstar ... I
have one of the posters Windstar was selling signed by both John and
David. David unfortunately died several years ago from cancer I
think.

John also painted ... oils I think. I remember him talking about it
back in the 70's. I don't know if there are any paintings around
anywhere, but if there are, I'd sure love to see them!

The show was at the Hammer Gallery in New York, 2 Dec 1980 to 7 Jan 1981. I
don't have a list of the photos though.

My favourite of John's photos is "Gathering Wood" - but I've not seen as
many as some people here! I did see the Hammer Galleries brochure many
years ago - I was visiting a German friend, who had a copy. I remember
there were beautiful pictures illustrated.

I have the meadowlands poster too - I didn't realise David Armstrong had
died. Was that before or after John?

I would love to see some of John's paintings! If anyone has any photos of
them, please post them somewhere so we can all see them.

Dear Mary,
I would be most appreciative if you could send those photos my way. I would
love
to see them.

Yes, all of the pictures and watercolors are so very wonderful, and the words
surrounding both the talents of John and David are very inspiring...

I had wondered about David Armstrong a while back, and tried to do a search for
him but didn't find anything about him.

Thanks Mary for the additional words......

Peace,
Wendy

Wendy, the photo belongs to a friend of mine who was involved with Windstar
years ago. She has the poster signed by John and David from Windstar also.
The photo is entitled Misty Morning however it is unsigned. Do you have a
photocopy of this photo. I have gotten news that he also showed some photos in
Denver and it might be from that show. I will most likely be putting these two
items and some other John Denver items for sale on ebay in the near future. If
anyone wants me to let them know when I put them up I am willing to send you an
email. I will probably also email this list since I have seen other emails
about auctions of John Denver items. Thanks to all the people who have
responded to my questions. The internet is an amazing world. Norman

Hi Norman,
I do have that photo in the collection from the brochure. I thank you for the
interest,
but there isn't any way that I could purchase these...

I have the photocopies, and that will have to do for now..

Peace,
Wendy

Hi Christine,

If you got Colors In Time, Vol. 1, both the back and front cover
photos were John's from the exhibit ... the cover is titled "Autum
Rhythum" and the back cover is "Beverly Hills Hybiscus." I'll find my
brochure and post all of the titles of the photos.

I heard about David's passing after John died but I think he did die
before John.

Thanks Mary - yes I do have that CD - I had forgotten John's photos on it.
Then there are the ones on "Autograph" and "Seasons of the Heart" of course.
