Just to tell you a small part, the book suggests that each and every morning
you write three full pages of whatever comes to mind. No judging, no
censorship, just write. Try it. See where your thoughts take you. It's
great. And if you find that you like it, get the book (may be at your
library). I ordered my copy in soft cover from a small book store in town.(ISBN
0-87477-694-5 Putnam Books)
She also wrote another book called The Vein of Gold. I just got it from my
local library.
Try the morning pages and let me know how it goes.

Hi Sandi,
I've had this book for years and it does have some good points that can
be taken out of it. As an artist, I found about half the book to be
basic and the other half worth having. Anytime you find half of a how
to book worth remembering, the author has succeeded.
Good luck with your journey into the artist's world.

Thanks for you post about "The Artist's Way".
For a long time, I thought the only "artists" where people who could find a
market for their art. It is a wonderful feeling to know that you can enjoy
your art like you can enjoy a beautiful day. There doesn't always have to be a
dollar amount attached to make it valuable. I think I knew that before this
book, but it, somehow, kind of gave me "permission" to feel that way. Also
that it's great if people like what I do, that would be fantastic, but it's
also ok in a way if they don't as long as I'm having fun with it. And your
right, it is a journey. I like that.
Anyway, thanks again for your input.
