The other guy is a better guitarist, ( Brad whatshisname). Perry is
over rated as is Carlos Santana and Jimmy Page. All decent guitarists
but far from what I consider great. I saw Zeppelin in 1977 and they
SUCKED!! Page couldn't play shit.

though. He's the total opposite of Joe Perry, Carlos Santana and Jimmy

No, I'm gonna tell ya I saw him twice and both times he kicked fucking
ass. I had my elbows on the stage for one concert and saw him jamming
with Jeff Beck for the other. The guy had the strongest hands in the
world and banged it out the whole night.
I saw Aerosmith 4 times and only once did I think Perry brought it, it
was right after they cleaned up. Santana sucks, but Page did some
creative stuff in his lucid intervals.
I'd rather see any of them than the Beatles...

enjoyed the show. If you saw The Song Remains the Same you knew what
to expect.
Another guy that I really enjoyed live was Robin Trower. Saw him
probably a half a dozen times in bars and small clubs. I always took
something away from those shows.

I never saw him because I'd rather go to a Hannah Montana concert than
sit through that. I saw BB King in a 3000 seat venue and he
entertained the hell out of us. Sitting down.

To be honest, I don't know the last time I listened to Zeppelin. I
played Over the Hills last night on the guitar, but I was no where
near as loaded as Page...

bored once I fell asleep, and strangely, dreamed that I was at
a Led Zeppelin concert, but at a different concert than the
one I was at, they played different songs in my dream.
I did see what was probably the greatest train wreck
Led Zeppelin concert in their history, a show where they
tried to leave the stage after playing just two songs
because of a dispute with the concert promoter, but about
a hundred of the promoter's security guards physically
grabbed them and shoved them back on stage.
I was backstage for both of the shows in dispute
and saw the whole disaster happen. What happened
was that at the first show the drummer's kid tried to gain
access to a private area backstage without proper credentials,
and was denied by a promoter security guard. Anyway, the
kid told his dad about not being allowed access,
so he had HIS bodyguards beat the crap out of
the promoter security guard.
The next day, as the Zeppelin was about to take
the stage, they and their bodyguards were served
with like a $10million lawsuit from the promoter for
beating the promoter security guard. So they go out
play about two songs REALLY badly, then TRY
to walk off the stage after ostensibly fulfilling their
contract to perform. But as I said, they were physically
escorted back on stage by the promoter's security
staff, so they played about an hour's worth of
completely horrible crap, and did stuff like pull
women out of the audience and Plant would dance
a waltz with them while the other guys deliberately
played three different songs at once.
All in all, one of the all-time great horrible rock
shows by a "legendary" band, right up there with
the time Keith Moon of the Who passed out
after about three songs and they had to get a
guy out of the audience to play drums for the
rest of the show...
