I asked Billy in his official forum what his ideas were about joining Howard again.
I can really sympathize for him, the business world can be cruel.

I don't want to be in someone else's circus anymore.Believe me,they don't have enough money to pay me----no matter how much they can come up with.
I wasn't very valuable to them money-wise when I was on the scene. Why on earth would it be any different now? I've said before that it would be nothing more than economic sucide If I left what I'm doing here to go back to NY again.
I would to have my own radio show! (but there's no money in that either)

As much as I loved it when Billy was on, he doesn't need to come back, he's too busy. He'd be stupid if he did. Stern would just fuck him over again. Besides, Jackie wrote a lot of the shit Billy said anyways. Billy's better off where he is.

Yeah, working on cartoons. Who would want to be in the center of a half-billion dollar deal? Not me! Give me a day of standing in a recording booth, reading bad scripts in a wacky voice anytime. Forget being asked to do the Tonight Show, it sucks anyway.
What's still funny is that he has to look in the mirror every morning and say "Why the fuck did I make my wife my manager?"

You have got to be joking. Billy was horrible at ad-libbing. He did great voices but he was funny only when the material was written for him. Go off script for one minute and he'd get that "deer in the headlights" look.

Mr. Blackswell? Red?
He was good for those rapid fire bursts of madness, those were all his.

Dipshit, he was getting paid peanuts and those credits at the end of cartoons as well as the uncredited voice overs earn him more $ than Stern would have ever paid him. And at least he does get a credit at the end of a cartoon now, Stern took credit for everything. We all know now who supplied the show with laughs, and it wasn't Stern.

Moron, what huge venues was Billy West performing in?
A credit at the end of a cartoon, moron?
He gets top billing and makes seven figures a year, moron.
Billy West is arguably the TOP voice guy in Hollywood now, moron.

If memory serves,Billy was the 1st one of the crew EVER to leave the show and become a bigger success in the business and pay scale wise to be sure! I remember he never came on the show when he was promoting anything over the years.I guess he wanted to show he was fine without going on the show.He probably wanted to do it by himself. I once heard him on one of the radio interviews he does and believe me he can ad lib like a hurricane! He killed an entire studio full of radio people in 3 minutes-while they were laughing themselves to death. Not even the comedians could keep up.It was as great as anything I've heard him do previously on the air. I can enjoy him in any capacity because I'm a fan.Admit it,if he ever went back to the show-certain people would find something wrong with him to complain about.Just like now.You can't please everyone.I wish him the best in the world.
