I know for a fact that at least one Texan has seen this picture:

I know for a fact that MrLiver saw the tomato in real life, in the
general time frame that he picked the next state at the page top.

I still haven't eaten it as I type this.

He meant a lot to you, didn't he?

Nah, except that he seems to have landed me a consulting contract,
my first in quite a while.

I was trying to figure out who "Mr. Liver" is, and the best I could
come up with was Dave Wald, since he died of liver cancer, but now
that I think about it that's kind of weird, so, was Dave the one who
landed you the contract? I'm so confused.

Nope. It was somebody else. This guy has a sticker on his (almost dead)
wagon with a picture of a liver on it. The caption reads "BE NICE TO ME,
I'M YOUR LIVER". One of the guys in my Burning Man crew most years.

It's interesting that the same dry lake bed that Burning Man is held
on was (is?) used for launching large amateur rockets. I know someone
who use to do that and go there, and he invited me once to tag along
and I wish I had gone, for now I don't even know if they do that
anymore due to all the Homeland Security restrictions.

It's also been used for the background in a few commercials. The place
just doesn't look like anywhere else. Definately the middle of nowhere.

From 1985 to 2005 I always made a camping trip in September to the
American West, mostly New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. I just
love the rock scenery.

I like camping. I did a lot of it before I became a political activist,
and lately I've been going two or three times a year again. There was a
gap from about 91 to about 2000 though...

I'd still be out there hiking and camping except that my wife has a
really bad knee and just can't do hikes. Maybe someday we'll have her
knee replaced. But that's a minor part of our lives.

It was quite something new and nice after 54 years of non-wife
status. I had just never put any effort into deliberately finding
one. Always thought I'd run across one at random. Didn't happen.

That didn't work for me either. Or maybe it did. Melanie is driving me
nuts. I did a lot of looking, so I know she is closer to what I want
that just about everybody.

If this weren't a forum to discuss Hofstadter, we could exchange all
kinds of personal details about our private lives!

Double-plus-bummer! So am I. 5' 10'', 215lbs. I thought I'd be
single for life until I met someone to whom it doesn't matter that
much.

Last time I checked I weighed more, and I'm only 5'7.75". Melanie hates
my belly, so it is shrinking slowly.

Mona tells me that "men carry their weight as belly fat", so she
justifies it for me. I would lose it but I just don't exercise that
much anymore and my diet is on the junky side. But who wants to live
forever?
