Ok- to address a couple questions someone posted about me...
Matt (who signs his name Cheers, Matt) is from Germany- born & raised.
Also I will be changing my quote soon- but I like it for now - Matt likes it so
I guess that is the best part! :)
I have a complete list of all characters on my web page- if anyone wants me to
e-mail them the list just write & let me know, there are over 120 characters on
the list- I suppose I could even post the list here- it would be really long
though!

I somehow think that Sanrio has made many more than 120 characters!!! But,
I'd appreciate it if you could post the list here (even if it's long-- maybe
you could put 2-3 characters per line?)

UNKNOWN CHARACTERS:
I do not have information or names for any of the following characters. If you
read a description and it sounds like you know who/what it is, please send me
the information.
Donkey and mouse (1974)- A donkey with a cute light blue mouse who rides on his
back.
Train (1977)- This is a train with primary colored cars on train tracks, the
motto is, "The little train chugs and putts (puffs) across the land." I think
the name of this "character" may be Little Train.
Five Insects (1977)- These are insects with wings. One is a lady bug. The
others are red, another is green, purple and the last one is blue.
Sailor (1978)- A sailor somking a pipe with a big yellow beard. He is wearing a
sailor hat. The motto(s) are "I'm a big old salt." and "Give a bighello to the
sailor."
Little Girl with a big red bow on her back and lamb in a box (1979)- This
little girl is really cute and appears that she just opened a gift box & there
was a lamb inside.
Carousel Horse (1979)- This is a horse with a pole in the middle of him, as if
he is an amusemant park ride. He is white with a baby blue saddle, yellow tail
& mane and a light purple nose.
Bunny with umbrella (1979)- This rabbit looks like Cheery Chums to me. He is
wearing a red vest, carrying a blue bag and has a pink umbrella. He appears to
be falling out of the sky.
Bunny, Bear, Lamb, duck & chick (1985)- the name pretty much says it all,
except that the bunny is a girl and she is white. She is wearing a pink dress
with a white apron. The bear is a boy and he is wearing a red beret with a pom
pom on top, a red & white checkered shirt and blue pants.
Old Lady (Granny) (1987)- This is an old woman. Tayja is calling her Granny on
her page (sounds good to me). She has a little brown cat and the woman appears
to be dressed in Japanese clothing.
Snowman & Woman (1987)- they are snow people (like frosty). The live in the
woods surrounded by pine trees and have many animal friends, including birds,
rabbits, bears and deer. One snow person has a blue scarf the other one is
wearing a red one.
Japanese Girl (1989)- Ok, i'm not sure on this one at all. She appears to be
wearing a kimono and writing in Japanese or Chinese style caligraphy. She has a
little yellow dog.
Girl in red dress with animals (1989)- This is a tough one. She has brown hair
rosy cheeks and flowers in her hair. There are 2 animals by her, but I can't
tell what they are, possibly a mouse and a turtle (or maybe the "turtle" is a
parott).
Racoon, Fox, Cow, Goat and another animal that I can't tell what it is (1989)-
the title says it all, check back soon for a picture.
Boy in tree (1989)- this is a boy sitting in a tree at night surrounded by
stars. He has blonde hair and is wearing green pants a red jacket and a white
shirt. He is wearing brown shoes. he is not very color cooridinated and he
resembles Dagwood from the comic "Blondie & Dagwood".
White Octopuss (1990)- I like this weird looking creature! He/She is cute and
very simply drawn. She has a red curl of hair on her head and rosy cheeks.
Cottonwood Forrest - Cottonwood Village (1990)- Two little dwarves who like to
talk to squirrels in the woods. I am not really sure of the name of this, I got
the name from Tayja's page & she is a very reliable source!
Lots of Animals (1990)- From this pic, it looks like the name of this bunch is
"We Frie Kids" maybe that is it, but that looks a bit odd to me! In the pic I
have there are Bears, bunnies, puppies, cats, etc...They are ok- nothing great
though.
Hen & Chick (1992)- The name says it all really. They are cute and the hen has
rosy cheeks- they look Sanrio. (You know what I mean- right?)
White Puppy in Pink Hat (1992)- This puppy is white with lots of pink
accesories, including a huge pink hat she wears, clock, bracelet, necklace with
a heart pendant on it, a bow and a purse.
Ghost/Octapuss Girl (1995)- I don't know what this is, a ghost, an octapuss,
maybe neither. But she sure is cute! It seems the she either has a weird shaped
umbrella or a weird bow on her head. It is raining & the rain drops have faces.
She is smiling and looks very sweet!
Baby Boy & Duck (1995)- The cute baby is wearing diapers & getting a kiss on
his cheek from his pet duck- awwww, how sweet!!!!
Bear & Balloon (1985)- this little girl bear looks so sweet, wearing a red
dress & matching bow on her head. She is holding a balloon. Cute bear!
Duck-Billed Platypus and Hedgehog (1992)- I think it is a platypus..HMMM that
is what it appears to be anyway! The hedgehog is super cute and it looks like
he is trying to step on the tail of his friend and squash his tail (that's not
very nice!).
Platypus & Penguin (1995)- Once again I THINK it is a platypus, but i'm not
sure, so please no hate mail if I am way off base!!! :)
They seem to be very good friends!!!
Hearts & Ribbons (1987)- Basicly just like Petite Plie, lots of pink and very
girly. Cute if you're in kindergarten which I am sure this line was made to
appeal to that age group.
Carousel Horses (1991)- Pink, ribbony, girly...Another thing that reminds me of
Petite Pile.
Fat Tan Bear (1985)- This fat tan bear has a brown nose and wears a pastel
colored bow tie.
Pastel Owls (1991)- I have seen some of this stuff for sale, but don't know the
name. It is a light purple owl with a blue tummy and yellow beak & feet and her
3 babies who are blue, light purple and pink.
Tan Bear & Record Player (1986)- This bear wears a pink bow tie and is dancing
next to a record player.
Floating Pastel Bows (1991)- Once AGAIN- looks like Petite Pile to me...Pastel
bows (yellow, pink, lavendar, blue...) floating against a pink background.
Big Mean Dinosaur (1986)- I just forgot the names of these dinosaurs...They are
the mean ones, not the cute little ones.
Excersising koala Bear (1991)- This Koala is wearing aerobic type work-out
clothing.

Oh! sorry. your list was so long that i just breezed through it. don't get
me wrong...i read all of it...just really fast. i even copied it down for
later. i didn't notice the word "ostrich" or "sombrero" so i thought i'd just
ask you. ha!

I call her "granny" on my page too, only because I can't read the Japanese

Little Cottonwood Cottage is the correct name

I haven't got all the pics of them up & scanned yet...Plus I never post my web
site address- I think it sucks, so I am too embarrased for anyone else to see

Maybe one of these days I'll post it- once it is good!!!
Also it is an AOL web address & alot of non aol members have a hard time
viewing it- it is very weird & I have just been to busy to transfer all the

Hehehe!- Thanks so much! (I love your page too Stephanie!!!). I will- (I
promise) get all the character pics up soon- I have to scan them all first-
which will be a bit time consuming since there are soooo many!!! I will post
here once the page is updated. I am going to probably have Matt's sister scan
them for me on her scanner & she lives a coupe hours away- so it may be a
while...sorry! :)
