Subject: Another Starship Troopers Movie
This is not the reboot of Verhoeven's film. This is more like a
spin-off that is half way between that movie and, say, Roughnecks: The
Starship Trooper Chronicles. The movie, titled Starship Troopers:
Invasion, is a CGI animated movie that will have some anime influences
(since it's being directed by an anime director) but is produced and
written by Americans. It promises to include powered suits. After all,
it's animated so why wouldn't it. The IMDb article
(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2085930/) lists a release date of 2012,
but the production blog (http://starshiptroopers.tumblr.com/) sounds
like they are still in pre-production.

As has been commented on the ST reboot, it's hard to imagine how this
could be worse than the Verhoeven version so it has potential to be
better. Based on the drawings in the production blog, I don't care
much for the design of the ships or the powered suits, but those
probably aren't final, yet. I really don't expect it to be especially
true to Heinlein's novel but I'll see it anyway. Maybe it will be fun.
