We must seriously consider whether al-Qaeda is behind this latest
outbreak. At the very least they may be in league with the Jarts from
Planet Zeta in a plan to subvert the Free World and fly a Mexican Hat
Wave over the stadia of the Beautiful Game.
And those Welsh buggers too ...
That's fallacious. No true Jart would align with Al Qaeda.
Classic British understatement:
"I've seen another video which showed a craft with a diameter of,
I would estimate, several hundred metres, hanging silently over
people's heads," he said.
"It was a clear breach of UK air security."

"He added finally that, "should a UFO arrive at RAF Brawdy we will
charge normal landing fees and inform you immediately"."
And doubtless ask the occupants to go through Immigration/Customs.
I take it then that these objects are being picked up on our expensive
radar and early warning system ?

They should fall foul of health and safety.
That would drag in the whole NooLab Govt ;-)
No comment on the possibility it was a new military UAV being tested, I
assume?

I don't think even the RAF have reached such a low level of funding

A lot of good, clear, UFO sightings in the past have been played down or
ridiculed by the authorities (esp in USA) because what was seen was
secret military hardware.

Do you have any cites? - I believe a lot of the "cigar shape" UFO
sightings of the 60's were later found to have most likely been U2s
under test (they'd be about 20,000 feet higher than commercial traffic
and the sunlight reflecting off thos huge-span wings made it look like
a cylinder)
As far as I am aware, the USAF isn't in the habit of ridiculing
saucerheads officially, they just make plausibly deniable statements
like "we can confirm no known US aircraft was in the
area" (technically correct if it's something secret) or just refuse
to comment. When they DO comment (i.e. pointing out that Roswell was a
weather balloon) they loonies tend to hop up and down and scream
"coverup!"
I have always been fascinated by UFOs, but the evidence is very, very
shaky, so I've become more fascinated with whatever part of human
nature it is that makes us tell stories about aliens, demons or ghosts
etc. The only case that I find really compelling is the Belgian UFO
flap of the early 90s (?). My personal opinion on that one is that
some of the radar data was misinterpreted (or intefered with) and what
people saw was some secret craft under test. Though why they'd test it
over one of teh more corwded bits of Europe I don't know.

Triangular UFOs in the 1980s, which looked just like the B2 stealth
bomber. There are also numerous UAVs, some designed to pull incredibly
high G turns. Some aircraft also designed to operate silently.

Depends who was doing the testing.

If anything, the US military (and others with secret weapons programs)
are likely to covertly aid the UFO-myth.
It white-washes what they're doing, but in an idiotic and unbelievable
way (to most people, anyway).

Multidimensional visitation hypothesis. Maybe he should look up
"Occam's Razer".
No, I meant the bit about Human staged hoaxes.
"But in 1896 events turned up a notch: The world experienced its first great
explosion of sightings of unidentified flying objects. The beginning of the
UFO era can be dated from this year. Although sightings of UFOs had occurred
in earlier decades, they were sporadic and apparently rare. Also, these
earlier sightings did not come in the huge concentrations ("waves" in the
lingo of ufologists, "flaps" to the U.S. Air Force) that characterize much
of the UFO phenomenon between the 1890s and the 1990s."
http://science.howstuffworks.com/ufo-history4.htm
I believe there were quite a few in South America in the 1800s and before
too.
And some in england.
And elsewhere.
The "UFO" phenomenon has been around since before heavier than air aircraft.
I think there is a mixture of hoaxes, experimental aircraft, natural
occurrences misinterpreted.....and the unexplainable..........

Cheers. I think he's putting the cart before the horse with his

re: Belgium - there is a classic photo of a triangular shape with a
light at each corner - is there more than one image, and if so, were
they taken by different photographers?

I got a V2 up my asshole, and it killed me in the end!!!!!!!
In the late 90s (IIRC) I was having a look around Wright Patterson AFB,
and had a look at the Dark Star prototype. Edge on it looked just like
the bottom pic on that page. Of course, there's a 25 yr difference in
timescales, but I'm willing to bet similar airframes were being tried
about that time. BTW, Dark Star was a stealth UAV.

And if it was real, what are the authorities to do? Say, "Oh yeah.
Aliens exist, are more powerful than us technologically. They can
abduct you from your home, do who knows what to you, wipe your memory,
return you, and we can't stop them"? Yeah, that won't cause panic and
mass rioting.
Voldemort was portrayed the same way, and you saw how the fear guided
people. Peter sold out his friends just to curry favor with him. Many
others became bounty hunters for hire to stay on his good side. Still
more did nothing out of fear. Evil wins when good men do nothing.
>When they DO comment (i.e. pointing out that Roswell was a
>weather balloon) they loonies tend to hop up and down and scream
>"coverup!"
But it wasn't a weather balloon. The Gov lied about it. Nuke
detector or alien ship, People saw what clearly wasn't a weather
balloon, the papers said the US had an alien ship, then the official
response is, "No we have no ship. Twas a weather balloon tis all."
And that (the second part at least) is still a lie. So yes, there was
a cover up. Just not necessarily the cover up people think it was
(and it could still be).
Of course, the main problem is, people are under the assumption aliens
want to make contact with us, and wouldn't operate in secret
themselves. Which, if it is aliens, they are most certainly doing
(and have been warning us about our destroying the environment for
decades).
I remember the "Dark Star". Pretty much a saucer looking thing with
tailfins.
On the recent sighting, without going back to the source, i seem to remember
it was Croydon.... The picture that was in the paper really did look like
those lanterns, however, the policeman, along with numerous observers with
him, reported seeing a "craft" bounded by the lights. I wonder if there
were no pictures of that or if the guy just has a fertile
imagination.........
FACE
I was not allowed to take pics at the time, for obvious reasons. The one
I looked over was painted with a black radar absorbant paint. This one
is probably an official photo.

Hmmm....different than I remembered. ;-)

No comment.... I was stationed at RAF Brawdy for a year.
We had all sorts of aircraft use the Castle Martin ranges. We had
aircraft from most of NATO in and out. Many of the aircraft were not
the normal ones on the base and therefor looked and sounded "strange"
The A10's especially as they were very new back in 1979.
We also had the 22 Rescue helicopters that went in and out at strange
hours that hovered and skimmed the cliffs and coast in general.
Then there was the Meteor and Vampire on VASAF that looked and sounded
strange compared to the Hunters and Hawks.
Once we also "bombed" the Fishguard ferry... the Hunter was doing a high
level dummy run (not even carrying bombs) on the Fishguard ferry leaving
harbour.
Captain and Harbourmaster both reported the aircraft bombed the ferry
with the bomb narrowly missing the ship. The aircraft was called,
told to return directly to base. It confirmed it was unarmed,
On landing the aircraft did not deploy the rear arrester parachute....
Pilot nearly went off the end of the runway.
It turned out on closer inspection that the arrester drogue and it's
holder were missing. We surmised that it had not been clipped in
properly and the high G turn when the hunter pulled out of the dive was
enough for it to come loose. Hence appearing like a bomb from the
aircraft...

Brawdy you say, was old "Stinker Harries" the Chief Tecccy still there.

Jesse would like them as most of the Germans carried man-purses like

>Nasty bugger after he had been on the gin.
I have no such knowledge.... etc :-)
I was in the Gin Palace on the unit. Though we frequented the Pub in
Solva. On the right as you went in. It was perched on the top of the
cliffs over looking the sea. The other one was the Pub on Newgale
sands.
When I was there Cat used to fly the weather kite. .
A lovely part of the country. Near to RAF St Athan I spent a week
boxing training with a chap who had trained Charlie Magri. It was
owned by the National Association Of Boys Clubs, Frankie Vaughn was a
patron and I recall watching the 1978 match between Sweden v Brazil
when Clive Thomas disallowed a goal for Brazil as time was up as the
ball was airborn. The dorms in the boys club were of the old
corrogated arched metal variety.

Ah.. that wouldn't have been "Boy's Village" would it? In Aberthaw, in
the shadow of a bloody great power station? Just over the main road
from St Athan village and a couple of miles from the base.
