OK, what if when the Ak bounced back, it destroyed V's last remaining
Soul bit? And since he couldn't die, his consciousness was pulled
from him (see other post). Upon resurrecting hi old body, he was
still soulless, and hence why he's more powerful than ever, because he
has no soul left within him.

All Harry has to do is destroyt he toehr Horcruxes,a nd no more V. Of
course, we know it;s not that simple. So, Harry's scaris the Horcrux,
and the love harry must sue is to self sacrifice eevrybody. JK hinted
her religion kinda gave the endign away. What if Harrys acrifices
hismelf so nobody esle has to die? His love for all others enable
shim to kill himself, destroy thre soul bt in his scar,a nd finish V
off permanetly?

Harry has to defeat Voldemort with an act of selfless love. An
extremely weakened Voldemort having lost all that was left of his soul,
might have Harry allow himself to be killed in an attempt to save
Ginny/Hermione/Draco/Snape/Ron /etc. and be somehow destroyed in the
process. Or killed by whoever has been saved by Harry's love. Or
something...I'm anxious and a little edgy about how this is all
accomplished in the end. I can't think of a way for Rowling to work
love into the final battle without it being relatively cheesy or a
simple repeat of the last time it happened. At most, even if Voldemort
was reduced to a sniveling mess, all Harry would ever feel for him was
pity.

Dumbledore was not inclined to believe that. He said specifically that
Voldemort's soul would have to be the last destroyed.

We're also told that being soulless is NOT a good thing as the dementors
take a person's soul and it leaves those people as shells.

Again, as with many theories on this group, no evidence whatsoever.

I posted something similar but JKR said that the last soulbit is the one
still in Voldemort. I think she's inconsistent there, but oh well, it's
her book.

What, he's going to blast the scar off his own head?

Harry doesn't have to _love_ Voldemort in a soppy way; all he has to
do is feel true _compassion_ for him. You can feel compassion for
a mad dog even as you kill it, literally to put it out of its misery
(the disease is painful). It isn't easy because it involves getting
past hating him, so that all he'll feel is the compassion for a being
who has gotten himself into such a state of suffering out of terror
of death. It's going to be in contrast to Harry's letting Peter live
(intending that it be only long enough to come to trial), because the
trick is to feel that way and still get rid of him somehow. Mere
pity could distract Harry from the real need to get rid of Voldemort.
I think V won't try the pity angle because he's been too proud so far;
but if he'd really rather do absolutely anything other than die, maybe
he will try to sucker Harry into hesitating long enough to give him
another chance.

The hard part will be finding a way to do it without making Harry
a killer in his own mind. Ideally, Voldemort would do something
that would backfire on him.

Like DD knows everything. He can be wrong, and already admitted this
whole horcrux bit is guess work. He's pretty much grasping at straws
for Nagini. besides, he didn't want Harry wasting his time destroying
V's soul, when there's still several other Soul Bits lying about for V
to go to. We have no idea what really happened with the failed AK, VS
what happens if a direct death blow. It could be V would be quite
sentient, and simply fly off to merge with a SoulBit and reform.
Destory the Soul Bits first, and any direct attack will finish V off
permanently. Not so much you can't kill him without destroying the
horuxes, it's just that you shouldn't. Much more efficient/easier to
destroy the split aprts first, then go for the main part.

But he has a soul, just divded up. Probably still networked.

I think the actual written guesswork is a touch more believable than your
unproven suggestion.

Your proof to support this claim is..?

You mean other than what Rowling has already said about Lily's love, the
curse backfiring, and Voldemort remaining alive due to his horcruxes? Naw...
no idea at all. Except for the fact that she has explained it to us rather
neatly over 6 books.

Read Richard Eney's post. Similar theory, thrown out.

Could be. Probably. Would be.

Nothing about what is or how you got here. Not even a theory, just a
suggestion. I'm guessing Rowling is gonna stick with what she laid down
these past 6 books.

yes, but that goes back to dd wen it was 1st told DD DIDNT INCLUDE THE
FACT HARRY HAS DESTROYED 2. Harry destroyed the one in his body when he
was 1
In his 2nd year he destroyed the book
DD DESTROYED 1
one is either destroyed or not destroyed - we dont now yet

so its 7 - 3 = 4 there r only 3/4 horcruxes left - but only 1 book!
and anyway cudnt v make more?

He could. But then he would no longer have a seven-part soul--creating
another Horcrux would make his soul eight-part (though with 2-3 of the
parts destroyed already), and so on.

History. AK kills V. But he'd not really dead, because he has other
Soul Bits. It's why he did not die, like JK told us to think about.
He still was anchored to our world, but bodiless. Theoretically, his
relay body was now dead, so he could never return. We also know his
memory diary horcrux could drain life and live again. Surely, that
means a brand new body. Kinda like how V eventually resurrected
himself. And we know NuV would be very useful to spectral V. For a
long time, the resigning theory was V would possess his younger self.
since we know that his younger self is his soul, a possession could
only lead to a re merging of the soul. Making our V back in full, and
in a brand new young body to boot. Therefore, logic dictates that if
Harry destroys V first, history would repeat itself. V would still
exist, still posses, still be able to get a body, still resurrect
himself, and to top it off, he could also chose to use a Horcrux, and
resplit his soul again later. and we know I'm right because JK asked
us, why didn't DD kill V at the MOM? We all thought the Prophecy
precludes all but Harry. DD says it's not binding. Which means, DD
could kill V. But he can't right now, because V has a bunch of
Horcruxes lying about, number unknown, and if DD killed V, he would
only delay the inevitable. Which is why he told Harry to destroy the
Horcuxes first. Because anything else is pointless. Only when the 6
Soul Bits are destroyed, will fighting V be any good.

Exactly. We have anything but a neat explanation. We know the AK
bounced back, and then? Harry lives with a mysterious scar connected
to V. V's spirit is pulled from his body. Somehow, V's powers get
transferred to Harry, and an explosion occurs in the Potter house. One
which doe snot hurt Harry. What's more, we are told this info second
hand from DD, who was not there. And JK changes things from what we
assume. There's no reason the bounce back occured from a direct
blast. We only know Harry couldn't be killed, and V was killed by it.
We don't know V didn't try and make a horcrux out of Harry, only to
cause the AK to hit him instead. What we know so far is the reignign
theory, and most likely. We know very little else, and what we do
know, is piecemeal at best. A failed AK, can still kill it's sender,
most likely by bouncing back. FAK leaves a scar on the intended
victim. FAK connects curser and victim. FAK transfers powers of
curser to victim. FAk blows things up real good. We don't have a true
smooth order of events. Only what is the most likely outcome, of
blast, bounce back with scar, power transfer, mind meld, bodiless v.

All theories are suggestions.

A theory is a hypothesis that is reasonable AND has support proof. What you
put forth above is absolute conjecture.
