I recall some time ago, but recently, he was more or less predicting
his demise or something along those lines. It seemed like depression,
which can happen to people with earlier exalted careers in their later
years (eg Hemingway, HST and others). Why do I think this? Because,
as far as I could tell, he wasn't physically sick.
