I'm going to a journalism convention in two weeks and I just found out that the hotel we're going to be staying at is haunted... apparently in 1928 some girl killed herself there by jumping off the roof and it's also built on the site of the first elementary school in Phoenix, so the voices of kids playing and laughing can be heard there as well. I totally believe in ghosts, but I've never had a supernatural experience, so I'm somewhat excited as well as creeped out. Anyone else have any ghost stories to share?

Dammit lol.
I'm looking for that one where the ghost runs through the room.
I found the old link for it, but it's not working =P

well as I've talked about before, before my accident I worked at the world
famous Lemp Mansion. it has a lot of history of suicide and is said to be
haunted. my only scary experience in my time there was I was in the restroom
downstairs, cleaning, and I heard a womans voice.. no one was downstairs at
all so it freaked me out a lot.
MTV taped an episode of FEAR there that hasn't aired yet that I'm aware of.
I'm thinking it'll air this new season.

Right. I thought about that, too, but I figure maybe sometimes spirits get
stuck in the time that they were happiest or something like that.

Phoenix - San Carlos Hotel - haunted by suicide victim Leone Jensen who killed
herself there. It's bad enough when you stay at a hotel and irresponsible
parents allow their children to run (literally) up and down the halls, day and
night. What can you do when the running children are ghosts? That's the long
and the short of it at this hotel, which was built in the 1920s. It seems the
hotel now occupies the site of the first elementary school in Phoenix.

::shrug:: I personally don't believe in things like that, although I'm not 100%
(and I only say that because I don't care to be proved wrong!)

I do! At my college, there's a dorm where, around the turn of the century, a
girl believed that she had leprosy, so she set herself on fire and died. (This
is true). Supposedly, the fourth (top) floor of that dorm, where she lived, is
now haunted. I heard that someone was once in her room (presumably it had also
been occupied by the leprosy girl) and opened the closet and saw a girl in
turn-of-the-century clothing, reading. The ghost said, "Please close the
door!" and the student shut the door in horror. When she opened it again, of
course, the ghost was gone.
That part may or may not be true.

I believe its called "Unfinished Business" where the spirits just roam around
on Earth because they died tragicly and they weren't ready to go up to Heaven.
I don't know..people are skeptical about that, obviously.

That's just freaky. When I was in the fourth grade, in my classroom, there
was this hole cut through the wall near the floor, and if you looked at it,
you could see an eye peering through. Now you could suppose that to be a
peeping student in the next room, but the scary thing was, that you could
always see the "eye" when you looked at the hole, and if it WAS a student in
the next room, why didn't the teacher reprimand the student for peeping so
much. (Some trivia for the L.A. people. You know that girl does traffic in
the KTLA news helicopter - Jennifer York? well her mom was the teacher in
the next room. Her mom was a nice lady, which is why I know that if it was
a student, she would have reprimanded him/her.) It was just freaky.

Anyway, because of that a bunch of my friends sat around telling ghost
stories. They just freak me out, lol. I still remember one vaguely about a
statue crying or moving or something in Guam. Has anybody heard this one?
I've never been to Guam, but there's some legend there or something about a
statue or something and it either moves or cries.

I don't even like to watch scary movies myself, lol, though as suspenseful
one like "Sixth Sense" was good. The only thing supernatural I've seen
myself is an orb. This is a small white light a few inches around that
floats through the air. Some people contribute these to lightening, or dust
particles that have come off a lamp, but the thing I saw was no dust
particle, lol. Considering I live where the first methodist church was in
my town, I'm going with ghost. Whatever it was, it didn't really scary me
at the time, it was just something I noticed that was unusual. Anybody else
seen these things? Otherwise, I haven't seen anything strange, though there
are certainly unanswered questions out there that's for sure.

I have heard something about the statue of Mary crying blood tears...I saw it
on the Discovery Channel..there were pictures that spectators took and they
looked pretty rea (if thats what your referring to?)l. Oh, and has anybody
heard of Stigmata (i think thats what the theory is called) where "special"
people get a cut on their palms and draw blood..supposedly symbolizing the
crusifiction of Christ..and if that happens to you you're "very blessed" or
something to that nature. Its all very intriguing to me.

i think the store i work at is haunted... everyone thinks it is actually.
sometimes when i'm working midnights, i'll see someone walk by out of the
corner of my eye, and no one will be there. my supervisor said the same thing
happens to her there all the time... and this other guy who works there said
that he was walking toward the break room once, and in the reflection of the
window he saw someone behind him, but he turned around and no one was there lol

it's kinda spooky

and last week my bf took me by this house that some woman was once murdered in,
and everyone says the house is possessed or something lol the house looked
creepy, it was all run down and the windows were black and the paint was
peeling. and i guess he dismembered her body in the shed out back and strung
her intestines on the trees in the front yard. so gross man lol eww just
looking at the house creeped me out, one of the sheds in the backyard had been
demolished.

i think they had that aired on fox family channel before...is this the same
dorm with the image of the face of the dead girl on the dorm door (it had like
flame-like marks around the "face")? they always have to change the door and it
just reappears everytime. sounds like the same story, but it could just be a
very similar one.

I never heard that. It's probably a different college. Was it Merion at Bryn

Replying to myself-- This is the actual story of the dorm ghost, from a Web
site listed below. It's got all sorts of ghost stories.

Bryn Mawr- Bryn Mawr College-
A student, Lillian, haunts Merion Hall. She attended in the beginning of this
century. She believed she had leprosy, although the doctors could find nothing
wrong with her. To cure herself, she took a bath in kerosene, and knocked a
lantern in to the bathtub. She is said to have run screaming in flames down
the hall.
