1911: TAKESHI KIMURA is born. Writing under the pseudonym Kaoru
Mabuchi after 1964, he wrote or co-wrote the scripts for "Rodan", "The
Mysterians", "Varan the Unbelievable", "The H-Man", "The Human Vapor",
"The Last War", "Gorath", "Attack of the Mushroom People", "The Lost
World of Sinbad", "Whirlwind", "Frankenstein Conquers the World", "War
of the Gargantuas", "King Kong Escapes", "Destroy All Monsters", and
"Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster", as well as the bases for "Godzilla on
Monster Island" and "Godzilla vs. Megalon". He died of asphyxiation in
January, 1988, in Tokyo.
1934: "King Kong" is released in Finland.
1944: TOSHIO KUROSAWA is born in Kanagawa, Japan. He was in "Tidal
Wave" and played Professor Shiraki in "Evil of Dracula" and Akira in
"The Last Days of Planet Earth".
1954: SHIGERU CHIBA, who played Koichi Todome in "The Red Spectacles"
and "Stray Dog", is born in Kumamoto, Japan.
1955: ROB ROY FITZGERALD, who played Rick Sanders on "Ultraman: The
Ultimate Hero" and a detective in "D-War", is born in Oxnard, Calif.
1966: KYOKO KOIZUMI, who played Aone in "Onmyoji", is born in Atsugi,
Kanagawa, Japan. She was also in “Psychic Girl Reiko”.
1968: Episode 18 of "Ultra Seven", "Escape from Area X" (a.k.a. "The
Bells Are Ringing"), debuts on Japanese TV.
KURANOSUKE SASAKI, who played Tetsuya “Fukube” Hattori in "20th
Century Boys 1: Beginning of the End”, “20th Century Boys 2: The Last
Hope”, and “20th Century Boys 3: Redemption", is born in Kyoto
Prefecture.
1984: “Chodenshi Baioman” (“Super-Electron Bioman”) premieres in
Japanese TV.
1994: Episode 49 of "Five Star Squadron Dairanger", "The Final
Battle", debuts on Japanese TV.
1995: Episode 39 of Season 2 of "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers",
"Rangers Back in Time: Part 1", debuts on Fox.
2000: "Gamera 3: Revenge of Irys" premieres in South Korea at the
Seoul International Film Festival.
2001: Episode 50, the final episode of "Future Squadron Timeranger",
debuts on Japanese TV.
2004: SHIGEO TEZUKA, who was on "Ultraman Leo", dies from lung cancer.
2005: "The Grudge" is released in Denmark.
DAISY JADE, who played a burn victim in the U.S. version of
“One Missed Call”, marries James Daniel Loney.
2006: Episode 36 of "Ultraman Max", "Elly Must Be Destroyed!", debuts
on Japanese TV.
