in Chicago. He also composed stock music used in the U.S. release of
"Varan the Unbelievable".


1918: KING DONOVAN, who played Dr. Ingersoll in "The Beast from 20,000
Fathoms", is born in New York City. He was the husband of Imogene
Coca.


1923: KO NISHIMURA, who played Secretary of the Space Agency Murata in
"Gorath", private detective Keiji Matoba in "Black Lizard", and Makoto
Nishimura in "Tokyo: The Last Megalopolis", is born in Sapporo.


1925: YUZO HAYAKAWA, who played Kawajiri in "Gamera vs. Barugon", an
SDF general in "Tidal Wave", and a policeman in "Gamera, Super
Monster", is born.

Kamen Riders vs. King Dark", "Kamen Rider: All Back Again! 7 Riders",
"Kamen Rider Super-1: The Movie", "Kamen Rider 10's Birth! Riders
Unite!", is born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. He also played Takao
Ishizumi on “Monster Prince” and Yutaka Daimon on “Electroid
Zaborger”, and was on "Ultra Seven", "Mighty Jack", “Robot Detective”,
and "Giant Ironman 1-7".

1964: SEIKO SENO, who played Ryusei Tsurugi on “Super Manchine
Metalder”, is born in Okayama, Japan. He was also in “Ringu: Kanzen-
ban”.


1965: ALEX NEVIL, who was on "The Dark Past" episode of "Ultraman: The
Ultimate Hero", is born in Los Angeles.


1967: "Godzilla vs. Monster Zero" is released in France.


1970: EIJI TSUBURAYA, Toho's longtime special effects director and
founder of Tsuburaya Productions, and the creator of Godzilla and
Ultraman, dies of a heart attack in Tokyo.


1974: Episode 17 of "Diamond Eye: Warrior of Light", "Kero Cat's Great
Game", debuts on Japanese TV.


1975: Episode 15 of "Kamen Rider Amazon", "Came Out! The Terror of
Zero Big Sash!", debuts on Japanese TV.


1977: Episode 28 of "Super-Divine Bibyuun", "Humans Are Transformed
into Demons? The Super Strong Zushiin's Demon Hunting", debuts on
Japanese TV.
DONALD KERR, who played the diner proprietor in "Mighty Joe
Young", dies in Los Angeles, Calif.
DALE VAN SICKEL, who was in "Mighty Joe Young" and played Maj.
Stacy in "20 Million Miles to Earth", and did stunts in both films,
dies after a long illness in Newport Beach, Calif.

1978: TAKUMA SUGAWARA, who played Taippei Mikami a.k.a. Sazer Gans of
the Water Tribe on “Super Star God Granseizar”, is born.

1979: FRED ALDRICH, who played the radio operator in "The Beast from
20,000 Fathoms", dies in Los Angeles.

1980: Episode 17 of "Sky Rider", "At Last! The End of G Monster",
debuts on Japanese TV.

1982: SHO SAKURAI, who played Gan Takada in "Yatterman", is born in
Tokyo.

1987: JUSHO TODA, art director on "Kwaidan", dies.

1993: TIM ROTH, who played Jeff Platzer in the U.S. version of "Dark
Water", marries Nikki Butler.

1995: WILLIAM SYLVESTER, who played Sam Slade in "Gorgo", dies.
"Godzilla vs. the Thing" is released in France.
NOBUO KANEKO, who played Home Affairs Minister Isomura in
"Godzilla 1985", dies of blood poisoning.

1999: NORIHEI MIKI, who played a God of Yaoyorozu in “The Three
Treasures” and Matsukichi Kimura in "Tokyo Blackout", dies of liver
cancer in Tokyo.

2001: "Ultraman Tiga: Kodainyomigaeru Kyujin" ("Ultraman Tiga: The
Giant Who Resurrects in the Ancient Past") is released on home video
in Japan.

2002: "War of the Gargantuas" and "The Human Vapor" are released on
DVD in Japan.

2003: "Ju-on: The Grudge" is released in Japan.
"Pulse" premieres in the Czech Republic at the Febio Film
Festival.

2006: The 2005 remake of "King Kong" is released in Egypt.

2008: The "Godzilla DVD Collection I", including rereleases of
