As to the why... hindsight being nearly perfect when one openly looks
for understanding.... I think I have an idea, it's the affect I felt
on me.. I/we were hypnotized... hypnotized for want of a better, if
there is one, descriptive term for what we experienced. Aside from
what originally attracted us to Scott.. his pride, as that train
gathered speed, in it's guilt needed religious justification to
relieve it of pain and save it from 'sin'. Identifying Scott's life
as that of a developing egomaniac, his idea of salvation was an
expression of prideful ego wanting to be saved from his knowledge of
sin so he, following his ego, could feel good about himself. In that
sense I'm going to use the term false teacher for Scott and the first
thing false preachers do is hypnotize with their authority into making
you believe the Bible is the Word of the Lord when in fact it is a
message, a word from God designed to bring us back, from the fall, to
understanding. Understanding, real understanding is wordless... ahah,
it comes in a moment. When our understanding of most anything,
speaking here of the Bibles message, becomes perverted to see it as
the Word of the Lord, then the book becomes a god, and the preacher
becomes the high priest, the interpreter of the message, focusing on
certain words. Domatah Scott, as any agent in the role of perverting
understanding, used the Bible like a hypnotist uses a point of
fixation to overpower the subject and then twisted it's meaning into
the suggestion he wants his listeners, subjects, to obey. That's the
process... it's done with our Constitution all the time. II Cor
3:5,6.... Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing
as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is God; Who also hath made us
able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the
spirit; for the letteer killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
It's not the words one hears as much as the spirit from which they are
said... understanding comes from hearing the spirit as it is from the
words in the Bible.
