Does anyone here have experience with the Blue Letter Bible and
accompanying aids? How was it? And, do you have any other suggestions
such as what online programs you currently use and why?

http://www.blueletterbible.org/

Currently I am studying by laying out my books side by side but am
convinced that there must be an easier way using my pc to enhance my
studies.

Thanks a lot you your help

I downloaded the iPhone ap and love it mainly because I can carry it
around all the time.
It allows you to search, highlight with different colors, and
bookmark passages too
There are ways I can see for them to improve it like being able to
assign a color legend
to your bookmarks, but it still works well for me and the way I
process information. You
will find yourself reading more of the Bible because it's always with
you.

would not apply to me but, you say you do like the Blue Letter over
all? that is great, thx.

Study of the bible is only possible from front to back not chopped all
over the
map to suit some "study" because you pervert the relationship God
wants which is from front to back
and read again. (relationships can't come from chopping around inside,
not on Gods' concentrations)

What we need is a national bible reading, constantly on many national

and when Peter asked to be hung on the cross upside down..was this

Mat 16:22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be
it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
Mat 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me,
Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things
that be of God, but those that be of men.
Mat 16:24 ¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come
after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow
me.
Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and
whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Mat 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole
world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for
his soul?

Luk 22:31 ¶ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath
desired [to have] you, that he may sift [you] as wheat:

And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into
prison, and to death.

well...when peter saw death he turned the other way..

Satan desired to have the church..

Satan can change his appearance ..

when Peter turned the other way to avoid death..
so will the church..

reminds me of the church turning the other way in Hitler Germany..

or what is to come..

hmm..the inverted cross..

where one stands is a moment in time
the head denotes facing that moment from an eternal perspective not
(but also), a reversed perspective like doc emphasized his right is
our left so from the perspective to his right which is the past.. to
his left is the future i would think

jesus speaks of the cross and says if you come AFTER me not befor my
time but after my time than take on jesus perspective on the cross
notions of time also you guys not just sin.

peter turned upside down puts the moment in time upside down first is
last last is first this ties into the johns tarry for it picks the
past moment in time as recorded and fixes it in future occurances

friggin incredible where does this stuff come from i wonder sometimes
but i know there is compounding inertia of wisdom due to inclination
taking place and fusion of what is alive and already said to be
approached and trusted and embraced as prescriptive

Natalie Imbruglia - Torn

I thought, I saw a man brought to life
He was warm, he came around and he was dignified
He showed me what it was to cry

Well, you couldn't be that man I adored
You don't seem to know
Seem to care what your heart is for
But I don't know him anymore

There's nothing where he used to lie
The conversation has run dry
That's what's going on
Nothing's fine, I'm torn

I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
I'm cold and I am shamed
Lying naked on the floor

Illusion never changed
Into something real
I'm wide awake and I can see
The perfect sky is torn
You're a little late, I'm already torn

So I guess the fortune teller's right
Should have seen just what was there
And not some holy light

It crawled beneath my veins
And now I don't care, I had no luck
I don't miss it all that much
There's just so many things
That I can touch, I'm torn

I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
I'm cold and I am shamed
Lying naked on the floor

Illusion never changed
Into something real
I'm wide awake and I can see
The perfect sky is torn
You're a little late, I'm already torn, torn

There's nothing where he used to lie
My inspiration has run dry
That's what's going on
Nothing's right, I'm torn

I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
I'm cold and I am shamed
Lying naked on this floor

Illusion never changed
Into something real
I'm wide awake and I can see
The perfect sky is torn

I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
I'm cold and I'm ashamed
Bound and broken on the floor
You're a little late, I'm already torn, torn

Pidyon Ha'Ben, the "redemption of the first born son," takes place
when a baby is at least 31 days old, and involves "buying him back
from a Kohen." (see Numbers 18:15)

The background for this mitzvah is somewhat complex, but here goes:

Originally, God intended for the first-born of each Jewish family to
be a Kohen -- i.e. that family's representative to the Holy Temple.
(Exodus 13:1-2, Exodus 24:5 with Rashi)

God decreed that all the Kohanim would come from the tribe of Levi
But then came the incident of the Golden Calf. When Moses came down
from Mount Sinai and smashed the tablets, he issued everyone an
ultimatum: "Make your choice -- either God or the idol" (Exodus
32:26). Only the tribe of Levi came to the side of God. At that point,
God decreed that each family's first-born would forfeit their "Kohen"
status -- and henceforth all the Kohanim would come from the tribe of
Levi. (Numbers 3:11-12)

Which brings us to the mitzvah of Pidyon Ha'Ben. Since the first-born
child is technically a "Kohen" whose potential cannot be actualized,
he has to be replaced (so to speak) by a Kohen from the tribe of Levi.
This is accomplished by the father of the baby offering the Kohen a
redemptive value of five silver coins for the boy.>>

Matthew 13:5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much
soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.
Mark 4:16 Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at
once receive it with joy.
Mark 4:17 But since they have no root, they last only a short time.
When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly
fall away.
Matthew 11:6 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of
me."

Gypsie;

Yes I know what you mean about some people, and they are "not my
people". I am glad you were encouraged by something I said.
Likewise, it was good to read your kind words. Isn't that what it's
all about? Anyway, I am reading the Bible through in 2-0-1-2
(actually started several months ago), and I am not taking my brain
out and laying it on the table as Doc used to say. When I come across
something having to do with a subject like prophecies about Israel
returning to their land, I highlight it, then bookmark it like
"Israel: Dry Bones" or if it is about Jesus, I label it "Jesus:
Prophecied". I forgot to mention the phone app has commentaries,
dictionaries, concordances, and a version comparison with other
Bibles. You can also add personal notes. All with just the touch of
a finger.

Obviously I started with the main website, but not long enough to get
familiar with all the features. I do know they have daily reading
programs to choose from. If you had an iPad, they have an app for
that, but not for Blackberry yet.

The main reason I like the phone app is the protability. I am laid
off right now (for the first time in 35 years), and every morning I
ride my bike to McDonalds for coffee, check emails and news, and read
a few chapters before doing anything. The hectic career life stole so
much of my life away, I am enjoying the rest, and I am trying to give
God my time first. I've met a couple of elderly guys that are always
there, and we discuss Bible from time to time. The town I live in is
so small, a car wash is still 25 cents for the first 3 minutes! Ain't
that America?

I'd like to give a short testimony if I may. There was one beautiful
sunny morning the temperature was about 30, and I was layered up,
ready to head out on my ride. I felt kinda uneasy for some reason, so
I paused, and said a short prayer...."Lord thank you for another day
of life, and a day without pain"....very simple, but heart felt, then
I pushed off. I got about 3 blocks away and came to a stop at an
intersection. When the coast was clear, I stood up on the pedals and
cranked down hard to get across the road when my back wheel locked
up. I was only going 2 mph, but it was quite a jolt because I wasn't
expecting that to happen. I almost went over the handlbars.

When I looked back, a sock had fell out of the right cuff of my outer
layer pants, and got caught in the chain. It got all twisted up in my
rear derailleur and bent it into the spokes, breaking one of them. I
had to bend it back out and walk the bike home. Luckily I wasn't 4
miles across town, or trying to beat oncoming traffic, or going down a
long hill real fast. It could have been a lot worse. When I got
back, it hit me like a ton of bricks.....the short prayer....I laughed
out loud and gave God the thanks for watching out for me. Some people
I told said...."If God had anything to do with it, why didn't He let
the sock fall out before you got on the bike?"

Well, there's more to it than that. A few days earlier, I was asking
God to let me know if I was doing okay. Like Paul said, I die daily,
and I just wanted to know if He was listening to me. Everyone feels
that way sometimes. The sock was my proof! The way I see it, if the
sock had fell out before I got on the bike, I would never have known
it was even stuck up there in the first place, and I would still be
asking God to let me know that He was with me. I know, it seems silly
in a way, but I wiped out about 6 years ago and was stove up for
months, and it isn't fun. So, I praise God for watching over me, and
letting me know He is listening.

That's more than you bargained for I'm sure, but glad I'm alive to
tell it. I'd much rather have my bike messed up than me. It's
already fixed! So to everyone I say, give thanks to God in all
things, because you just never know what dangers are lurking around
every corner that He removes without your knowledge.

Peace to you also.

what was your testimony? that you are afflicted with moments of doubt?
real encouraging not... more like thank god he doesnt allow the worst
to come out in us to the point of blasphemy... ideally, so my advice
is change your focus yeah you need to repent also and get real

the only testimony worth noting is the testimony of jesus as it
relates to revelation of the christ. at least as an alternative to
this display of self agrandizing affinity between sisters.
christians need to become real christians not more horizontaly fixated

Hey Gyp
I came across this free software for Bible study and remembered you
were looking for something for your computer. I looks pretty good
from the screen shots. I have not downloaded it, but am thinking
about it. Anyway, check it out and see if it's something you might
like.

Papillon or matt or both hmmm. I do find it an interesting program
but, somehow the blue letter seems to give more flexibility (unless
I'm not fully utilizing e-sword). Gosh I wish Papi or matt would go
over this one with me again.

Thanks a bunch.if there are any others that you have found helpful,

E-sword has been around for a while. Papillon would know a lot more
about it. I recall him saying that they changed something along the
way that messed it up in his opinion and he no longer used it. I don't
remember what he recommended in it's place. There is a newer free
program called "The Word." Maybe that was the one. You can download it

WM-There is no reaching of a "state". There may be a state but it isnt
"reached".

Mel and Gene like to talk about the cracked pot and earthen
vessel....all well and good. At some point making that a sort of
mantra it starts to sound like an excuse or an apology....or
worse....some sort of shrine to the flesh. Cracked pot got it, got it,
got it. Now move on from the facination to the real relation the
underliying theme. Lets not be like someone that keeps flunking the
5th grade over and over again. We dont own each other like the law
owns sinners.

WM-Scripture doesnt recognize the office it recognizes the man. If it
were just an "office" you could just go to bible school and become
one. Like the men at the school of the prophets.....what were their
names? Well there was one guy the servent of elias, his name is
mentioned, but he was to be named. Even Ballam is named and some of
the false prophets and leaders that withstood the prophets. There is a
reason for that. Thats becouse there is no 'office" just people, real
people with names. You cant hide behind some starilized legal standing
and then think that intitles you to some premeasure of acomidation
that is standard with some "office". When you do you become like the
priests and prophets at Bethel and give up your moral authority to
tell people to go screw themself if need be. You become proud rather
than obstenant.....I mean real "pride" like "who do you think you are"
pride and thus a useless pile of fancy junk. Sort of like you junk
breath. lollol hardy har! Mr "office"! You see what the "office" did
to Jesus.

Living on a lighted stage
Approaches the unreal
For those who think and feel
In touch with some reality
Beyond the gilded cage.

Cast in this unlikely role,
Ill-equipped to act,
With insufficient tact,
One must put up barriers
To keep oneself intact.

Living in the Limelight,
The universal dream
For those who wish to seem.
Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation,
Get on with the fascination,
The real relation,
The underlying theme.

Living in a fisheye lens,
Caught in the camera eye.
I have no heart to lie,
I can't pretend a stranger
Is a long-awaited friend.

All the world's indeed a stage,
And we are merely players,
Performers and portrayers,
Each another's audience
Outside the gilded cage.

Hard to believe 3 guys made all that music! There are a couple of 2.5
hour-long Rush concerts on VH1 that come on at least once a month.
One is a documentary called, "Beyond The Lighted Stage". The other is

When you go to a Rush concert, they do not play loud at all.
It is one of the softest concerts you will ever hear.

I was backstage at a rush concert one time with their former
Production Manager. We were sitting in his office and I asked,
"Are they even playing?" I had to take a peak for myself to
see if they were actually on stage! lol.

Barry Manilow was waaay louder than Rush!

at the end of the day all that matters is that audiance of one could
