What that church needs to remember is that Jesus was not the only
person ever crucified. And that Jesus was not even a God.

Until they do, they are nothing more than pedophiles in skirts.

At one very brief point Paul Krassner (look him up on Wikipedia)
edited Larry Flynt's 'Hustler' magazine & the cover of one of his
issues had the Easter Bunny up on a cross.

Can't find a link to that cover, but here's one to an illustration
done in 1967 by Wally Wood for Krassner's notorious underground
magazine 'The Realist'

Man, this must've overloaded a few circuits over a the Mouse House...

Wow! Someone else remembers Krassner!

If we are really going to talk about what cheeses off the church,
Krassner helped oversee a photo in Hustler about the Virgin Mary that
probably didn't go over well with the group.

See, this is the reason that, while I'm still a Christian, I'm a
libertarian who doesn't follow any Establishment church anymore.
Here's a quick digression that gives you an idea where I come from:

Back when there was a Wizards Of The Coast store in my area and
Pokemon League every Saturday, I played every weekend (got pretty good
at it, too). At work, I mentioned this to a group of women. Most of
them asked me if I could teach their kids how to play and give
pointers. But one woman said, "That game is Satanic!"

No, I said, when the game was released in Italy, Wizards ran it past
the Pope, and he not only thought it was okay, he said it was
marvelous for teaching kids math and reading.

"But Wizards Of The Coast is run by hard core Satanists!"

I don't know if that's true, but if so, so what? I'm not going there
for religious instruction, I'm going there to play games, socialize,
and have fun.

At the league, a bunch of us were Harry Potter fans. The Gym Leader
mentioned a friend of hers who wouldn't let her kids have anything to
do with Harry Potter because of the magic and stuff being non-
Christian. No books, no games, no movies, no nothing. Now, here's
the kicker -- this same mother had no problem with her kids playing
Vice City for four hours at a crack.

As I put it one time, "He's YOUR God, they're YOUR rules, YOU burn in
hell!"

Well, if you want to mention crazy stuff.. Just enter any Catholic
Church and remember the lines from Exodus, section 20 if my memory
does not fail me.

You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of
anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or
that is in the water under the earth.

You shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I the Lord your
God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents,
to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me.

Sounds like a real selfish bastard to me. Then I worship Athena, have
for thirty pl,us years. It has been forty years since I even touched a
Christian bible, so they may have edited it since then (this is from
memory thank you.)

My fun question to the missionaries who bang on our door on weekends
is this. "Well, you say Satan is the great decever right? Okay, then
what makes you so all fired certain that he didn't switch the books?"

weeee... I'm g'nuts, and this has zip to do with the FIRST FURRY
CHURCH! The Bear, the Broad and the Spooge!

Sure do. I remember showing a copy of 'The Realist' a friend had lent
me in my high school English class. In it there was a full color mini
poster that said "FUCK [in stars-and-stripes letters] COMMUNISM" [red,
with a hammer and sickle inside the 'C']. The teacher saw it & off to
the assistant principal I went. He gave me a stern look & I responded
with something to the effect of 'well, it *is* patriotic.' He smiled
in spite of himself & sent me back to class.

But he kept the magazine. Years later I bought a 'Best of the Realist'
collection to give to my friend to make amends for losing his issue.
