This is just a quick question I have for anyone who is willing to take
the time to answer it. I was wondering if anyone could point me towards
an artist who is willing to work off of commission. Yes, I know there
are probably quite a few of them out there, and also that they probably
have web sites that say as much, but I am a relative newcomer to the
Furry Fandom, and have not been able to discover many sites on my own.
If anyone would be willing to mail me at my address with any sites they
might know of, or info on what I might expect, I would be very grateful.
My e-mail should be someplace on this message, but if it's not, mail me
at Phant...@webtv.net , and thank you all again in advance.

Try http://www.furnation.com and http://www.yerf.com for starters. They
have artists aplenty, contact info and (I THINK) info on whether they
take commissions.

Welcome aboard!

Hello and welcome =)

They are lots of furry artists on the web, but many do different types of art
work, and www.furnation.com and www.yerf.com are good places to start.

Yerf is this cool web page that have a big archive of cool furry artwork, and
they have some good artists there too =)
it gets updated every day, whenever some one uploads a file, it takes some time
to get to the recent page, the recent page shows up to the last 40 files
uploaded, all in nice, small, somewhat fast loading, thumbnails =)
though yerf doesn't let artists have their web pages on their archives, they do
have some info, and e-mail addresses for the artists =)

Now Furnation is a another web page with load of furry artwork, but it's not a
but archive like yerf, it's a furry web site that lets other furs have their
own web sites on furnation, and the furs that have web sites can upload all of
there art work, and other things =)
they are many good artists on furnation, but some of them are a bit Yiffy, but
overall it is a very cool web site, lots of G rated artists there too =)

but if your looking for a commission, I hope you find one you like, and if you
trying to look for a furson that will do one for you for free, they are hard to
come by :)
some times on my web page (www.furnation.com/Redoxen) I give away free
commissions as a prize to the fur that fines it, because some times (like in my
"furry valentines update) I hide a free commission on my page somewhere, and if
you find it, you will win a free commission from me =)

another fur that is new to furnation that might do a free commission, is one of
my good friends Todd H. ( www.furnation.com/Yiffer ) if you want to e-mail him,
his address is on the page =)

I hope this has helped out a bit, but have a fun time, and once again, welcome
=)

Or do like I did for my Christmas presents to fur friends.

Post a character description and ask for people who would like to try their
hand at it. State that you know they are starving artists and will pay their
commissin rate if it is within reason after viewing their archived work (Hint:
These starving artist always work dirt cheap or at least do ask for what they
could get paid for the time they put in on the piece)
And what the reaction you'll get! I got none and had to go hunting. I viewed
Yerf and Velan looking for artists who were good at drawing the specific animal
I wanted.

I found Meglique (Megan Giles) and XianJaguar saw my commission for X-mas and
earned the birthday commission.

It never hurts to ask an artist who's style you admire of the fur that they've
drawn and is yor furs species. At least the art furs are friendly here. The
rest I don't know about. They seem a triffle whack out about something. But
give them a chance. Their nice too, when they need to be. Just don't give up
hope on any of them. God knows they are hopeless, but even miracles can occur
here. (Don't hit me! Kidding! or should I say lambing since that was the
most recent one at 4 this afternoon)

This syringe is loaded with Banamine and I'm not afraid to use it! (Potent

Hello Phantasm75,

Come on over to my site. I am always happy to do commissions. Take a
look and I think you will like the way I do business :)

Heyas!

Reccomending Sparrow for furry art! My comission with him was timely and
well-done...and I was offered the option of either purchasing the original at a
reasonable price or accepting a smaller copy for absolutely free :) I chose
the former, myself, but I understand the latter can be had simply by visiting
his web-site and providing a detailed critique of one of his peices!

As a fur who had been somewhat 'dissapoined' with my comissions with top-name
furry artists, I find Michael's attitude and way of doing business to be
top-notch! Support this man :)

You could also try getting back issues of "The American Journal of
Anthropomorphics" From Mailbox books and Vision comics

http://vision.nais.com and e mail Darrell Benvenuto for a catalog or
e mail Ed Zolna at mailbox Books at mbb...@arols.com

There's four journals, some starting to get hard to find. They're $10 each,
but show several artists works and includes commission rates and contact
information. For a new comer they're a good introduction to who 's out
there.
