Life would be so much easier if we could just look at the source code.
If you look at a fur suit and the first thing that pops into your head
is fur suit yiffing...you might be a fur-fag. Most NORMAL people tend
to think like Halloween, Disneyland characters and sports mascots when
they see a fur suit.
Most normal people aren't sports mascots either, just a clue.
Most furries don't go around wearing their fursuits on a daily basis
you whack job. Most just wear them to conventions where it's
considered appropriate attire via cosplaying. Woah, cosplaying, did
you learn a new word today, Frosty?
Is that anything like cock slapping? You really are making it sound worse
with every post.
Well you don't see EVERYBODY fishing or everybody playing sports do you?
It's something that not everyone does.

Sorta, sorta not. It would all depend on if you cosplayed as a female
character or not. For example: If a guy was to cosplay as Inuyasha (Main
male character from a japanese anime) that would be okay (e.g.
non-cross-dressing). OTOH, if that same guy cosplayed as the main FEMALE
character, Kagomi, then that WOULD be crossdressing.

"'Refactoring' was conceived in Smalltalk circles, but it wasn't long before
it found its way into other programming language camps. Because refactoring
is integral to framework development, the term comes up quickly when
'frameworkers' talk about their craft. It comes up when they refine their
class hierarchies and when they rave about how many lines of code they were
able to delete." -- Erich Gamma
Nope. What I do think is normal is that someone who actually has a skill
and a gift is putting it to good use. I've seen the photos of some of his
suits, and actually I think they're cool. Normally those mascot-y type
things you see at easter egg hunts and such creep me out (I think it's due
to the fact that their faces look have that 'dead/zoned out/lifeless' look
about them.
Jax's fursuits/mascots have a sort of alive-ness about them that make them
seem less like a suit and more like a living character. Take for example,
the eyes in this closeup shot of a suit called 'BounderFox':
http://jax.critter.net/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=56&pos=6
That 'quality/realistic' look is IMO, the mark of a skilled fursuiter.

You're *serious*? Wow! In all the times I've dressed up as a human being and
got together with my friends, be it to shoot some pool and sink a few cold

Why are you editing this wiki, if you're not in fact a furry?

Two is company, three is a crowd.

What are you talking about? I went to the site and looked at the wikipage,
but didn't see any evidence I myself was there.

I fucking hate sarcastic homos. Almost as much as I hate grown men dressed as
gerbils.
Cosplaying is only crossdressing if its a male playing a female part of

Butt why ?
Only if those fursuiters are doing the acts you are talking about earlier.
Which I doubt.
What two consenting adults do in their own lives is of no concern to
me as long as no one else is being harmed. If they want to dress up
like squirrels and have sex, fine. If they want to be a man and woman,
fine. If they want to be two right-wing religious nuts like Tom Cruise
and Katie Holmes, fine. The fact of the matter is that YOU shouldn't
be bothered by what OTHER people do if YOU aren't involved. Unless
you've been raped by said Baby Matthew in said squirrel suit then you
should stick to minding your own business. Elsewise, you show yourself
to be somewhat like a Jehovah's Witness who won't go away or an
illiterate solicitor who ignores the posted signs and tries to sell
your unwanted wares.
Attempts to convert those who do not or cannot be converted are
futile. If you feel that you must, pardon the furs, insist on beating
a dead horse then that is something that you'll need to come to accept
as your personal character flaw. If you are a man of God/god(s)/some
higher (state of) being AND if you accept that all men/women/whatever
will have to answer to that being then what business is it of yours to
try and dissuade them from their chosen path in life? If someone has
found that being a fur or gay or whatever is true to their path in
life then that MUST be how they must be. If there is an afterlife or
life after the current one in which we live then we will most likely
answer for how we are now in that time. Even at that, it is still not
your job to "convert the heathens" so-to-speak.
If you are a reasonable person, which is questionable at this point,
you would find it best to realize that you and your inflammatory
opinions are not wanted here and will do little good. Further
aggravation to the people you're harassing and yourself is
counterproductive to everyone and their beliefs. I would kindly ask
you to please put an end to your unwanted posts and leave. No threats
or repercussions, just the knowledge that you're a better person for
leaving something alone that you cannot change.
Just as they are free to practice their lifestyle, I am certainly just
as free to laugh at them. And it is fucking funny.
So are men of the cloth having sex with the altar boys. Oh, wait. No
it's not. Sorry to see the name change with the post. Another one to
add to the ignore filter.
So really, your rant is one sided. You are all for freedom as long as
it's yours and not someone else's. Regardless, I am still free to laugh
at those who engage in lifestyles I find funny no matter how you feel
about it..
And it is fucking sick.
That's rich. Someone who gets his warped kicks by parading about in a
gerbil suit questions whether *I'm* reasonable.

Blasphemy! If God had wanted you to be a gerbil, he would have given Richard
Gere a bigger asshole.
Cross-dressing (especially as a female gerbil) and "cospaying" sound pretty
perverted to *me*, you silly, furry little homo.

They're smuggling illegals in them!
Now you know why I loved the furries so much: they're like gun owners.
Easy to stir up :)
Which part? The laughing or the practicing?
I think finding out *why* people want to be an animal instead of human is the more interesting study :)
Why would people reject their own humanity is such a complete way?
Hmmmm...
I think FIB was trying to point out what some could say was a double standard.
Ultimately whats acceptable is determined by the overarching culture.
In some south seas island communities the young males right-of-passage to manhood is through a sexual act with their uncle on the mothers side of the family.
A background in anthropology helps open ones eyes to what is the determinant of acceptable "norms" in any given culture.

I'm for freedom. I'm for freedom of blocking the ramblings of people
who don't know better. You're free to aggitate whomever you want just
as they're free to walk away. And anyone is free to issue an UDP and
stop the spam you're generating. If you are unable to post anything
constructive then why are you posting anything at all? It wastes space
on the servers and takes time away from the ISP. Being a participant
in this, I've already been contacted by my ISP for further
information. I'm simply trying to help you realize that his is not
where you should put your rants. Sorry if you are unable to see this.
And it's funny to think that this is the newsgroup for that. Read
the FAQ and go elsewhere. And, no, I don't wear a costume. I'm
comfortable enough being who I am even if it does mean that I have to
somehow be related to you.

Fool. Shut up and stop dancing on their hook. Are you deliberately trying
to damage a.f.f? Because engaging trolls in this way will do exactly
that. If you'd ignored them, their chat would probably have gone onto
non-crossposted threads by now. Your ISP can do nothing.

I only went there because you said: "Why are you editing this wiki, if
you're not in fact a furry?"
I went there to see what you were talking about, since I don't recall
editing that page or any page on that site.
Better than what? You are free to espouse the fur suit lifestyle, as
the other guy is to laugh at it. Me, I don't care either way. But I am
bothered by the idea of invoking a Usenet Death Penalty against
someone just because he finds the fur suit lifestyle amusing. It is at
the very least hypocritical.

Go fuck yourself again. The net police are on the prowl deciding if what
somebody posts is constructive. Are you saying you are going to netcop
me? Good luck asswipe.
I am no more in "your newsgroup" than you are in "my newsgroup." I am
therefore under no obligation to read your perverted FAQ, much less
acknowledge you as a member as the same species as me.
I am beginning to get the feeling that, in the best interests of all, I should
report myself to my newsmaster for my part in this debacle. Although I am
really not sure what Mr Caputo will decide to do with my account when I inform
him that I am netcopping myself once again, this time for laughing at a guy
who dresses in a giant gerbil suit.

Are we not all brothers?
I say, verily, we are.
Well thats kinda a blow off answer :)
I think its more due to a lack of accesable role models in this modern society.
Think about it: parents plop their kids down in front of a teevee and expect
that the cartoon animals the tots stare at for 8hours a day wont influence them.
You cant damage a newsgroup :)
You could damage a server or a load ballancer though. But this isnt going to do
it.

You assume that people cant be enlightend, ever.
Ive seen people come to a common understanding if you just give them a chance.
Read Bufford Hatchets post carefully and you'll see that not everyone is just
going to flame you for shits & giggles :)
