While listening to "1973 05 10 WZMF Menomonee Falls WI 30.40 FM 1st
(Bigdavej-Drew51)" via
http://www.zappateers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=11718, I was surprised to
hear FZ tell the "Frankie wants to buy yez a drink" story and state that
"Frankie" refers to "Frankie Balistrieri." Because I was born, raised,
and lived the majority of my lifetime in the metropolitan Milwaukee
area, I knew that "Frankie Balistrieri" (as FZ calls him) refers to none
other than: Frank P. Balistrieri (May 27, 1918 February 7, 1993), also
known as "Mr. Big", "Frankie Bal", "Mr. Slick", and "Mad Bomber", was a
Milwaukee Mafia boss who was a central figure in casino skimming during
the 1980s. [citation from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Balistrieri]

Look up the word 'dive' in the dictionary.
After the initial definitions regarding
aquatic and aeronautical topics, you'll
see a photo of this joint.
The version of "Rudy wants to buy yez a drink" on Philly '76 is my new
favorite version of this song.
Fucking Union leader scumbags.

How many have you heard?
Only nine recorded live performances are in circulation (one from 1970
and eight from 1976).

Not many. Obviously: Chunga's Revenge and maybe I've heard the 1970 Santa
Monica, CA performance.
That is probably one of the reasons this 33 year old recording sounds fresh
and new.

I don't think you'd care to have certain people hear you say something
like that about Frank P. Balistrieri, a Milwaukee Mafia boss <grin>
FZ's mention (at about 22:52 into this recording) that "Frankie" is
"occupied somewhere else at this time" refers to the fact that, "In
1967, Frank Balistrieri was convicted of tax evasion and sentenced to
two years at a federal penitentiary in Minnesota." [citation from an

Have you scene "High Noon" or "On The Waterfront" recently?
