According to Wikipedia, Arthur Barrow overdubbed the basses on Ruben & We're
Only In It in 1983...but Scott was the bass player in -82 and -84 bands, so
why not him?

And according to Arthur FZ asked him several times to re-join the band after
he left, why didn't he join (if was willing to do studio work, why not
touring)?

Touring makes you crazy.

He's still alive, why not ask himself?

In one interview from circa 1986 FZ mentioned that although Scott was
his all-around favorite bass player, he preferred Arthur for studio
work.

Accepting a studio job means turning up for a day and then having the
rest of the week free to work with other people.

Accepting a tour means being gone for months, a problem if you're
trying to have a career as a studio musician, which Arthur was after
1980.
