With the recent goings on with the Zippin Pippin. The battle on who
really owned it and it's sale to a park in Greenbay. I want to discuss
an Elvis myth. For years we have been told that the Pippin was Elvis'
favorite ride and if you are only talking about when he rented Liberty
Land, then you are technically correct. I have first hand testimony
from former employees and a ride owner that during the pre Liberty
Land era. When Elvis used to rent out the old fairgrounds amusement
park. That Elvis spent most of his time on the dodgem cars NOT the
Pippin.

BTW recently i drove by the Memphis fairgrounds area, and to look up
at the skyline and NOT see the Pippin was a sad day for someone who
grew up in the midtown area.
