Now that Elite: Dangerous has met its Kickstarter target, and will
hopefully actually get released, now's the time to have a look at some
old Elite fan site nostalgia without getting too depressed about the
failed potential.
Ladies and Gentlemen!
I give you! The most excellent! Jades' Elite Four Page!

The first Elite Four Page on the World Wide Web! [in 1998]
This is a blast from the past, namely February 1998 when I received
apparently solid information on the forthcoming new Elite game and
decided to launch a new site.
Admittedly, there's not much there now. You can, however, relive the
progress of the site - from optimistic launch to dismal realisation
that yet again nothing was going to happen - on the Internet Archive
at
http://archive.org and admire the cutting-edge graphics. Start from
1998.
Ironically, the Elite 4 site got considerably further than my planned
site for X: Beyond the Frontier - a game that did get released and
which I played very regularly. Never did get round to detailing
Operation Sunset, a cunning plan for X-Tension.
Meanwhile, I'm planning on writing some stuff for my FFE site as well
as a long-overdue update to the FFE FAQ and would welcome comments,
suggestions and requests for new info by the usual channels.
I wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year.
