quite disappointment for Errand became hero. I like Errand, but it
seem too powerful and a little to young. I can't imagine David would
bring a girl for him. And I missed the Garion couple. Luckily,
Ce'Nedra and Garion backed in part ii.
For I read the Belgariad Chinese edition, I encountered some
difficulty of many name.
I think the pronunciation was tough. How do you pronounce Belgarath?
And should be *BELgarath or bel*GArath or belga*RATH? and how about
pogara, ce'nedra
I also wanna practise my speaking ability. So while I am reading
english book, I mean reading aloud, and it'll embarrass if you finish
a book but got no idea of pronouncing a main character's name, is it?

Since DE never specifies any pronunciation, it's impossible to say
what the correct way is. Personally, I put the emphasis on the Bel in
Belgarath, and on Pol in Polgara. When you have the letters "ce" in
English it's usually a soft C (i.e. like an S), and the apostrophe in
Ce'Nedra keeps the Ce and the Nedra parts separate. The "ce" therefore
sounds like the end of the word "fence". So, "Ss NEDra", I think.

Generally it doesn't bother me, unless the author includes a
pronunciation guide and I discover I've been saying a name wrong all
along

them wrong... :-)

You have my sincerest apologies - that was an unfair abbreviation.
tEC2 is short for The Eosian Council (well, the second one!) which is
a UK based meet of alt.fan.eddings posters. It's taken place in Wales,
England and Scotland, but not Northern Ireland as yet, and has had up
to and over forty afe-ers at any one time, with people coming from
Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States of America, Germany,
several of the Scandinavian countries, other European countries, (I
can't remember if anyone's come all the way from Asia/China - help
guys?) and of course from the United Kingdom itself.
The first one happened in November 1998, and I'm looking forward to
the decade anniversary of meeting some of my nearest and dearest
friends :)
Aquarius was involved in organising the second tEC and wrote to David
Eddings and got that tape as a reply.
I have been known to argue with his pronunciation of my alias :)
