This is a trip, reading some of the old stuff. I haven't been to this
newsgroup since the early 90's. Wish I could remeber if my nick back then
was Martel <I think it was>, but I was reading some of the posts By Donal
and it reminded me of my first web page which was a ripoff of his. I still
have the original swords for line breaks from that page

In theory mine still exists, but it got a bit, er, shuffled by a disk
crash (think the bit in Banks' "The Player of Games" where somebody
honours a promise not to destroy a single word of a library by sorting
the contents of the library into alphabetical order), so it'd be some
work to resurrect it.

I vaguely remember that we tried to figure that out once and decided it
was somebody older than either of those who wasn't around any more.

Loved that book. Was that the one where one character was just a
previous character who'd snuck back in, in disguise?
I respect people who do that kind of thing ;)

An afe time before we can all remember? Scary!

*thinks*

So who is the oldest of the long timers who is still here in 2008
then? You, Simon and Aq1 got here before me, I'm not sure about the
rest?

Simon I was definitely here before me (which is why I became Simon
II). IIRC there might've been a Simon III, but I can't remember now.

Since I've probably made about five posts in the last ten years, I'm
not sure if I can really be counted.

Well, I didn't exactly make it hard to figure out, did I. IIRC, I was
possibly the youngest person at tEC1. Although Walker and/or Mara may
have been younger, but not by much.

Besides, you're not exactly ancient yourself. :-p
