So did it mean that most of people with enormous power tend to be evil?

The power is a gift from the gods, they weild the power of the gods. Aldur
chose only to give this gift to a few very very powerful bods, like
Belgarath, Beltira, Polgara and team. Torak on the other hand chose to
infuse a whole tribe, the Grolims, so there are more people using the
power, hence they are not as powerful singularly and to stand any chance of
winning against a follower of Aldur have to act en masse.
The people of the other gods are either too dim (Arends), proud (Nedrans /
Alorns), stoned (Nyissans), or dead (Marags) to use the will and the word.

Lots of Grolims don't have any sorcerous abilities, either. Probably.
See the bit where two Grolims are talking about being of the green or
of the purple where they're thinking of stabbing Chabat.

This is interesting also as in contrast, on the prophecy level, the side of
dark infuses a single candidate (Torak) with all its power whereas the side
of light infuses the light brigade (Garion, Belgarath, etc). ;)

nah...just a bit corrupted, and too busy in their own sphere of
