This is an open call, anyone who wants to come can. Please spread the
word to those I might not be able to reach. I will reveal more details
once I'm sure that we can get enough people to fill this place.

I'll dig out my old email lists and spam the old-timers :)

Yes, I'd like another tEC and don't have any plans for November at the
moment so should be able to make it.

Count me in. 10th aniv and all that.
krager.
Now that we're all old and need our creature comforts, it might be
useful to say how comfortable it'll be.
Where is it in the scale from Maeshafn (triple level bunks in big dorms)
to Durham (twin rooms)?
Martin
Emm.. I am checking how to get there from China.
Just joke.. I don't think I can even afford the ticket of the bus from
airport to the destination. Have a good time anyway.
Don't joke, unless you want someone to accidentally win the lottery
and fund a ticket for you.
I'm on a roll this year ;)

The Game is Over. We all won. (I'm as surprised as you are..!)

It is in between. There are twin rooms, and then other rooms of various
sizes. Twin rooms will be allocated on a fair basis, in that I'm getting
one and the rest of you can fight over what's left.

Teut, obviously, people who are *with* people will get first dibs on the
twins.
Dibs!
I'll find an afe partner before then ;)

Just make sure the plane goes via Melbourne, we'll pick Dindog up on

So far, the following people have indicated that they would like to come
to what I've started calling "tECX"
Teut
Mrs Teut (her official Nick)
Ce'Nedra
William Marnoch
Hetty
Ghneffy (the two of them)
Castellan
Aggy
Ghworg
Bethra
Sarabian
Mandy
Bagpuss
Aquarion
That's 14, 15 if Mandy is going to be bringing his missus (which he
probably is). This is plenty to be getting on with, so over the weekend
I'll start sorting more details out and show you all were we'll be
staying and stuff. The best date so far seems to be 14th-17th November.
So, if you're not signed up yet and you want to meet up with these
wonderful people (again or otherwise) then let me know!

Well, cheezit, it'd be a shame not to. Also, I'm getting constant
earache :)
Chalk me up, Captain Teut.
What goes around comes around, eh?
Aq -- back in the habit
Ten years. Stone me. What's tenth, silver or something?
We should have some kind of a celebratory party.
Oh, wait a second...
Aq.
Blimey. Now you've said that it will, of course, not happen; Cast
never comes to meets, it's a universal law.
Not that I am one to talk, these days.
Aq.
That is why I have to send out my robot doppelgangers, from within the
confines of my deep subterranean lair.
The next model comes with realistic aged looks.

Castellan
Ha! Covering yourself, Cast?
Actually, yeah, every time people think they've seen me it was
actually a robot doppelganger....
Aq.

So, who is this mysterious Stuart Langridge? Anyone we know? :)
--
Teut
Rearrange these words into a common sentence.
Off. Bugger. ;-)
Aq.
The following link will take you to the website of Dubvale Priory, where
tECX will take place. Take a look, let me know what you think.

So, tECX is to discover who Stuart Langridge was ?
Sara.... oops, Paul
When you find out, let me know?
Aq.
I think he's Zalasta!
Ce'Natalie ;)
> Sara.... oops, Paul
Hi Sara, welcome to afe!
X'Nedra? ;)
I think he wears a tutu....
Ce`
Off to perform the ritual of althalus, or something :P
Can you email me your email addy please, Hetty?

Why am I not shocked? :-p
I'll be going now, before people start making allusions to kettles &
pots.

Mandy at the weekends...
I'll call dibs on a twin myself, as it seems likely that Mrs Mandy will
be coming along too. If she doesn't, then clearly I'll do the kniggetly
thing.

Like I said. Do the kniggetly thing. Incidentally, she *has* expressed
an interest in coming.
I'm not sure I like those odds!
They *might* be me and a Ford Galaxy people carrier going from Norwich
(which would almost have to go through Cambridge) and other home
counties. I may be able to offer many lifts.

Castellan
Actually, I'm not so sure anymore.
Que sera.

Thank you, my knight in shining armour :)

Yeah, I can probably just about afford a return flight to Melbourne from
Rocky now that Tiger flies direct and it's far enough away that there are
prolly some $99 tickets left!
Jeh :-)
Ah.

I do my best. :-)
It's a very long story. Been going on since 1997 or 1998 now, don't
think it's quite over yet either ;)

Nicely put! I once got verbally beaten up by an old lady for saying
"I'll try my best".
She politely, but firmly, told me that trying was for failures, and
only To Do, not to 'try' :)
So, to bring this back on topic, was tRoA DE's attempt to try a stand
alone fantasy novel? And if so, I'd say he did his best with the
Losers, Regina's Song, etc
Damn, I could have met you in the airport bar in Dec/Jan if I'd known
that!

International Woman of Mystery.
I vaguely remember a small green person drilling this into me as a

I think it was, and it failed. Had there been an editor willing to tell
him that the middle third of the book was somewhat repetitive, that
the characters were largely one dimensional, and that he should go away
and rewrite large chunks of it, I think it could have been a really good
book. Unfortunately, having written series for so long, he's long since
forgotten how to do anything in under 1500 pages.
I'm telling your mother you said that :P

*nods*
All true.
Anyone know what he's up to now he's finished the Dreamers?
Ce'Talia
Apart from setting fire to his garage? He's probably writing something
else, I'd imagine. He doesn't seem the type to quit.

Setting his garage on fire? I'd like to think he's retired before things
get any worse, but...
Cheque's in the post - I swear :)
Who all is signed up so far?
And on another random note - has anyone heard from Zith recently? She
was one of the first afe-ers I met before Krager, Mara and I even made
it to tEC1 :)

I've received money from:
Bagpuss, Ghworg, Mr Marnoch, Castellan, Ghneffy, Aq'n and Senji
Aggy, Ce' and Jan have payments pending in some way, and the following
people have not contacted me about payment at all:
Mandorallen, Sarabian, Hettar, Aquarius and Diane.
If you're on the lower list, can you please contact me to arrange
payment, so I can get this thing booked. Thanks muchly!
--
Teut
Ta! We'll have to drag both of them kicking and screaming back into
the group - and to the meet :)
Ce'Talia - the pounce-hug alerts are on me!
Have they, and is it booked, or should I go kick some butt and take
names?[1]
CeTalia
[1] Or cheques at least ;)

although Jason Williams (Khendon) and his GF have been added to the
