Physically or Mentatally?

Tough one, Tones. I'd say Thufir, because (as we know from the film) he
was a big, beefy kinda guy whilst Piter, as played by the intense (and
underrated) Brad Dourif was a bit of a weed. The reasons why are
probably varied, with all sorts of nature, nurture and nutritional stuff
going on, but the fact is Thufir has the frame, and the muscle-mass
whereas Piter is, as I said, a weed.
Just in general.
Piter was a "twisted Mentat" so he was essentially flawed. Thufir was
just old.
"Piter was a "twisted Mentat" so he was essentially flawed. Thufir was

And wasn't Thufir handicapped by the Duke's meager financial resources?
He admittedly underestimated how much the Harkonnens were willing to
spend on the attack.
Thurif didn't have a great track record in "Dune." He was the mentat for Leto
when Leto was defeated, and the mentat for the Baron when the Baron Harkonnen
was defeated. But maybe we shouldn't hold that last defeat against him. ;-)
This aint little league, you don't get a trophy for showing up. :P
