Ooo, I like it :} It's a very flowing style. Nice job on the shading,
too. That's something I could never get the hang of **grimaces with mild
self-annoyance** which is why I got into painting my pics on the computer in
the first place.

Shading is one of my strengths. One of my concerns of going to color pics is
whether or not I'll be able to shade as well.

Well, even with colored pencils I suck at shading... not as badly as with
graphite, but still... One thing I *do* know is, unless you already know
about them, one of the best brands of colored artist pencils is "Prisma
Colors"
http://www.prismacolor.com/ They're a bit softer "lead" than most colored
pencils which makes them easier to blend. Here are a couple of beautiful
examples of what someone who knows what they are doing can do with Prisma
Colors http://www.fullmoonfarm.us/missdeeboss.jpg
http://www.fullmoonfarm.us/daisy.jpg

Only problem is they are expensive (a set of 48 is something like $75.00)
but they have an advantage of being able to be purchased as a set or
separately (I know A.C. Moore arts and crafts store carries them both in
sets and individually). A good second choice is Prang Professionals which
you can get in a box of 48 for about $10 depending on where you look.

I've used both, and while I agree that the Prisma Colors are probably the
best you're gonna find, the Prang colors are a more than acceptable, and
much less expensive alternative.

Yup, used to own a set :)

Yeah, I know :(

Ah... Well, perhaps my artistic ability just hasn't come out yet. I do enjoy
sketching and what not, just that they never look very good.

I can teach you a simple avoidance technique that will thwart the
wannabe thwapper, if you like.

As for Viri herself, I think she's considering a career change. She's
more entertaining than Keith Harris, at any rate -- well, other than
Orville's appearance with Nookie Bear on Banzai. That was great. >:=8)
