The Iggy ditty?
I think "The Passenger" is a WOV original, if I recall correctly. Can
someone confirm this?

Yes, it appeared on their 1st self-titled EP.

Seems you're right...At least, it's not the Iggy tune. Still. They
could've done a number on that number.

No, no, no, Kraftwerk did "Popcorn"
Yeah, I thought it was a band called "M" that did "Pop Music" in the 80's
They were just kidding about common mistakes people make in recalling
who did what. Of course, Kraftwerk didn't do Popcorn either. It was the
Rolling Stones.

No, no, no...the Rolling Stones did a cover of Devo's tune "Satisfaction."
;-)
(See, I knew we could bring this thread back on topic ;-)
Actually, I really did hear (see on SNL) Devo's version before
I had ever heard the Rolling Stones' version (at least consciously -
I didn't ever remember hearing the original before 1979 when
somebody ultimately played it for me several week later).
That's when I thought about the notion that "The original one
is always best" usually means "The first one you are exposed to
is always the best".

No, Otis Redding did a cover of "Satisfaction."
The Rolling Stones did "Let's Dance"
OK enough of that. WOV were awesome, Stan's lyrics just ruled the
school. "The fish are on vacation!"

Willow: "Carpe Diem. You told me that once."
Buffy: "Fish of the day?"

(Checks subject line...Oh, that's right -- this used to be a thread about
WOV!)
Speaking of covers _and_ WOV, I really like their version of "Ring of
Fire."
