So there's controversy over the diphthong in Baerry's name,
so we have two newsgroups alt.fan.dave_barry and alt.fan.dave_berry.
Diphthongs don't comply with usenet text standards, and converting
it usually means splitting the diphthong into two separate letters
and leaving it as is or by dropping the unpronounced letter, for
example, after getting rid of the diphthong, h*morrhage becomes
haemorrhage or hemorrhage, alg* becomes algae or alge. But B*rry
can be pronounced either with an "a" or an "e", so it's not clear
which letter to use, so it makes more sense to spell out the
'thong as Dave Baerry. But what is strange, I've never heard of a
diphthong used in a proper name, so this is all so curious.
