- Pre-Show: They briefly showed Conan with what I assume is his new
grilfriend. Another blond, ladies.

- Opening Skit: The Opening Skit was a "Survivor" spoof to decide who
would host the Emmies. The "Survivor" host was there, and the cotestants
were Cheri Oteri, Craig Kilborune, Arsenio Hall, Garry Shadling, and Andy
Richter. They were all at a "tribal coucil" vote where they all talked
about their vote and the voted. Andy came up and talked about how
quitting Conan was a mistake and that he's broke now, but he has to get
off the island. Shadling keeps coming no to him, and he thiks something
happened when Shandling came into his hut last night. Everyone pretty
much was against Shandling, who obviously won.

- Skit: Conan appeared in a skit with Shandling between awards. He told
Shandling that if he won, he wanted to do something more important that a
regular speech and that he wanted to get political. Shandling said that
Conan didn't want to be that guy. Conan talked about how little progress
woman have really made in the world and the injustice. Shandling asked if
he didn't get a date for the show. Conan said he didn't and thought it
would be a good way to impress the ladies.

- The Award: "Late Night" was up for "Best Wrtiting in A Variety Series."
This was Andy's last chance to be rewarded for his work on the show.
"LAte Night" was up against Chris Rock twice (his show and special), "Late
Show" and some British guy I've never heard of for some special I never
heard about. "Late Night's" clip for all the writers were different
Charlton Heston roles. Obviously, the British guy won. And he was't
there. And he went on to win for best performance in a special, as well.

Conan has been screwed in the past, but this really takes the cake, the
cake dish, and the whole damn table. The Emmy people were obviously aware
of the Andy situation, and had a perfect opportuity to give the show its
due and at least recognize Andy's perforamnces at its last opportuity.

But no. Screw them.

Conan is supposedly presenting an award at some popint, but I've stopped
watching.

he is funny. but obviously, not as funny as late night. he's got a strange
sexuality complex going on too. he was at the taping of the daily show that
i went to back in march. funny guy, but not that funny. well, apparently
not. - james z!

In article <srodqp...@corp.supernews.com>,

Look the newest always win. Last year The Sopranos this year? Sadly
Conan will have to have at least 12 more years on air to get another
award. BTW what strange sexuality complex?

Eddie Izzard - he's a brit with some serious glam-rock residue.
Awesome comic, by the way.

It sure is nice to see Damone post to afcob. I had no idea that the
emmys were even on last night, and I sat there in total ignorance,
watching a DVD. Doesn't sound like I missed much, though.
