Geologist needed-Is this a geode?

I picked this slice of rock up for a dollar at a flea market last Sunday.

It's about 3/4" thick and nicely polished flat on both sides.

The striations of different colors form very straight lines.

I've got a couple of geode halves, but the striations on them curve
around the "center cavity".

So what's this piece from AFCANS?

Leaky geode. The hollow shell formed, then slowly filled with
sediments rather than crystalizing like the more traditional form.

It looks like all the illustrations of striated agate.

That reminds me: Charles of the East has been AWOL for some time now.
Did he say he was going to be away, or was leaving and wouldn't be back?
I can't recall now, but it feels like a couple of months or more since
he has posted.

For that matter, Charles of the West hasn't been around much, either.

There was some problem with his Usenet access, so he switched to Google
Groups, and hates it. But I agree, even with his slowed-down posting,
he's been gone awhile.

I was just thinking that I should ask if someone had outside contact
with him. ISTR that Lee had seen him in person from time to time.

I think he was last in AUE in September. I'm guessing he got busy with
a project around the family property and forgot to update us about the
bees.

To me, it looks like it started out as a geode, then got filled in
in a separate process.
