He wants his name taken off the Google. Yeah. You know, I'm no
expert, but given that Google is a search engine, you'd have to get
his name taken off all the the 57,000 places that came up as hits.
Good luck with that, George Tierney Jr of Greenville, SC.

Then George Tierney Jr of Greenville, SC might want to learn to mind his

I could find listings for a number of people named George Tierney in
Greenville SC on Zabasearch. And there is a linkedin profile for
George Tierney Jr. as business development/sales for this company:
http://www.sunlandstaffing.com/

I feel bad for all the George Tierneys in Greenville who are not this
Twitter guy. They were going along minding their business and now
I'll bet their home phones are ringing off the hook from curious
journalists and the like.

Which is as good a time as to recount the meeting I had years ago with
a brand manager at one of our large clients... I think it was Procter
and Gamble. Her name was Linda Lovelace. She'd presumably gone
through life doing just fine, and then, suddenly...

An uncle of mine did cold-call sales of industrial tools and
machinery.

He was amused when "Hi. I'm Doug MacKenzie, from Canada" suddenly
started drawing snickers. So I guess that's different from Linda.

Michael Jacksons are everywhere. One of them wrote seminal books about
beer and single malt whisky. Another was my first-year university
English prof. Wikipedia's Michael Jackson disambiguation page lists 43
of them.

From what I see, he has no intention of getting on with his life. He's
doubling down on his double-down. https://twitter.com/#!/geotie2323

He doesn't really deserve a lot of our sympathy.

He tried. Google denied the request. I forget how they phrased their
denial. I seem to recall that Limbaugh went ballistic over the
denial.

A Wikipedia article on the campaign to come up with a new definition
for "santorum" is the first entry; the politician is the second item;
a web page to promote the new definition is now third.

As of I think January, the web page to promote the new defintion was
still in first place.

No, it hasn't been for a year or so. The wiki article on the
re-definition is first, his official page is second, an anti-Santorum
page is third, then news, then his facebook page, then the actual
re-defiinition page.

Which is interesting, it was pretty predictable that he could hire
someone to promote his page above the Savage page. But I'm not sure
he'll ever get past the wiki page on the re-definition. That's great,
that cracks me up.

67,300 for me today. 117,000 if I leave off the "south carolina".

As Joe Garrelli wisely said, "You can't take something off the
Internet. It's like taking pee out of a swimming pool." That was in
March 1996 when there were maybe 200,000 web sites (I don't know how
many unique pages). Today there are over 600 million.
