Holly's second top 10 hit song....originally named for Holly's
girlfriend, at the time, and changed to "Peggy Sue", after they broke
up. Peggy Sue, was a friend of Buddy Holly, and, girlfriend, and later
wife, of Jerry Allison, the Crickets drummer. It was Buddy Holly's
second "cross-over" song. It reached number 3, on Billboards top 40,
and reached into the top 20, for Billboards country/western charts.
Was followed up, by "Peggy Sue Got Married", after Peggy and Jerry
Allison got married.
