Interesting Wired article on Max Headroom & the state of journalism
[link] Makes for an interesting read. And as the article mentions, there's some good news, as Max Headroom will finally be making it onto DVD. Here's hoping it won't include actual blipverts. ;-)

Any other fans of Ray Kurtzwiel here?
Hi there again, Since I stopped posting here before, I have become a fan of Ray Kurtzwiel and his theories. It is of perticular interest to me that he sees a fusion of human and machine (or "singularity" as he calls it, which has also been dubbed "nerd rapture" by some) as a means of eventually cheat death entirely. I'm finding this interesting to... more »

Replicants and EMP.
Hello again, I actually need to ask a question that has been bugging me for awhile, having discovered Neuromancer since I last came here in 2003; since Replicants are theoretically part machine, even if just a little, how much of a threat would EMP be to them? Hi again everyone.
Well, I can't believe it's been 2003 since I posted here. I finally appropriated the "Final Cut," and have been watching it pretty much nonstop. I am still smarting over how much we still apparently haven't seen. I still wish the stuff with Hodge and Mary had been filmed, especially after watching the "making of." There is just so much in... more »

Sixes and Sevens
So, if Six evokes questions of humanity and identity, what about Seven? The Seven Samurai (Magnificent Seven); Snow White helped by Seven Dwarves; Seven of Nine; Mister Seven in ST; Blake's 7; but 'Se7en' and Seven deadly sins, Seven heavenly virtues. Seems more straight good and evil. Mister Seven: "Roberta, you've gotta let me finish what I've started,... more »

Let's have six
"Nexus-6" in BR; "Number 6" in the Prisoner; "Number 6" in BG; "Six of One" in Tripping the Rift; "Lincoln Six Echo"; not to mention "666" - are we using "Six" to represent questions of humanity? Netrunner

Joe Parrington Lives!
I was reading the post about Joe's infamous bootleg and did a search and lo and behold, there's Joe Parrington! He's the one with the dyed hair and sunglasses. Nice gig Joe. You should have Morgan Paull on your show sometime! [link]

Blade Runner workprint
Hi all, does anyone still have a copy of the worprint Joe Parrington recorded with a camcorder in a Seattle theater? Joe hasn't answered my emails.
